How do I kill a Doedicurus?

What is the best way to kill these little tough guys?
I am hunting for a lvl 120 and want to clear all that are not 120. But everytime I try to kill one, even a lvl 1, it rolls into a ball. The only way I have been able to kill one, (and I do mean only ONE,) is to knock it out, takes a lot of tranq arrows and even then it mostly rolls into a ball. I have a lvl 12 sitting in a ball right now. Have shot 30+ tranq arrows into it and it rolls into a ball. I am beyond frustrated.
Any suggestions?

Two things you could do are: 1. Tame a good Scorpion to knock it out with before it goes into its ball state, or 2. if you have admin privileges on whatever server you play on, wait for v207 and use the command that kills all wild creatures

Kite it to a somewhat deep water source and once he's in it, attack so it transform into a ball. Watch it drown.

I've had no trouble putting it to sleep with tranqs and crossbow; just backpedal and keep shooting it in the head. Space your shots out and it should keep chasing rather than curling up.

key is not to attack it with a dino it will ball up real quick when you do that, just trank it from the start then kill it

Yes, searching for a Level 100+ one is really tedious if you cannot kill the smaller ones. On our server wild dinos take only half damage, and the Doedis are virtually impervious to any dino. If they are attacked, they soon curl into the ball and that's it. Even Alpha Carnos cannot even scratch it. We often find 4 carnivores or more around one Doedis, trying to kill it and fail horribly.

The damage resistance in ball form is nice, but it seems a bit too much.

Can you blow a balled one up with grenades or C4?

One shot it with a high level rex.

unfortunately if they made the rocket propelled grenade correctly then it'd kill you too.

you need a really powerful dino, my lvl 215 spino with 1600%melee has no problem killing them

Get a strong dino, wait for them to unball - bite - repeat.

I have a lvl 215 Argent at 1300% melee and still can't kill a level 4. LOL, how stupid is that!?!?

I lost count of how many tranq arrows I shot at a lvl 92 before the bow finally broke. It was more than 25 tranq arrows. I think I am giving up on hunting a level 120. It appears to be a big huge waste of my time.

I vote that they get nerfed just a bit. The roll in a ball and be god mode is not a good mechanic at all.

Get you and a bud on scorpion with 700% melee damage (the higher the better) keep attacking it. It will roll up into a ball and on a scorpion once its in the ball you can keep stinging it till it gets knocked out....thats what we do...takes a bit longer but it works.
