What's better? C4, grenades, or rpgs
Hey so I was wondering which was better for raiding stone/metal bases. I know that grenades>c4 based on what it cost it make over the damage it does (idk if still correct during v206). But what about rpgs? Did anyone do any "math" on rpgs compared to them? I'm just looking for the best cost to damage ratio on them so I can maximize my supplies.
I'm on vacation atm so if no one has done the tests I sure will when I get back.

Grenades > Anything. Missiles are better for turret-destroying though.

C4 is 6x the grenade damage !

5.4 times the damage to be more accurate so you would need 5.4 grenades for every C4.
Which means grenades take more of every resource (except stone) that C4 and grenades share in order to do equal damage. So unless you have issues farming large amounts of chitin than C4 is more resource efficient and thus time efficient.
C4 is also more reliably going to apply full damage while a grenade often rolls slightly away dealing less than full damage.

Lol... NO! Turrets shoot RPGs out of the air. (Grenades too)
If you can get in close C4 is the best
RPGs are 2nd in terms of damage and good for longer shots or for avoiding agro (or letting you run from agroed dinos)
IEDs don't do snot anymore after they were nerfed, to people though they hurt.
Grenade are... Well they got nerfed too they don't do much again metal but stone and wood they can still be somewhat effective against

As mentioned above, to get equivelant damage from grenades vs C4 you need 5.4 more materials for grenade.

Grenade(5.4*) vs C4
81 fibre - 50 fibre
162 flint - 150 flint
27 hide - 5 hide
21.6 metal - 10 metal
21.6 oil - NO OIL
189 stone - 238 stone
162 wood - 75 wood
NO CHITIN - 100 chitin
NO CRYSTAL - 25 crystal
NO OBSIDIAN - 20 obsidian
NO PEARLS - 15 pearls

Keep in mind grenades are a little more flexible in that they can be thrown, but therefore more easy to botch. I prefer grenades for most circumstances but C4 has its place.

Personally i would prefer RPG to grenades because you can find very high quality launcher with high damage% (and even higher crafting cost =( ).

I would like to add that you should take into account difficulty in obtaining resources to make explosives.

For C4 I find it hard to gather enough Crystal and Obsidian. I guess it's different when you have access to cave but gathering that on peaks... it's like 30-50 crystals per respawn, about the same amount of Obsidian. Well... it takes time, you eighter wait for respawn or make a trip around island.

Grenades in other hand, don't need that resources. In my opinio hardest part is obtaining Oil, and thats only because you need swimming dino. But once you have Itchy with couple of levels in speed, you can farm 300+ oil in a game day.

In the end, I am making grenades a lot faster then C4. People keep forgeting that it's not about amount of resources, but time you need to spend per piece.

Does anybody know how much damage a grenade does to a tamed dino with a saddle?
