Taming bar not increasing..

I made a server for my friend and me.. but both of us are having problems taming stuff.. the taming bar is just not moving.. been on youtube and watched several videos on how to tame.. also searched google for answers.. but no help anywere.. i tried to tame different animals and so did he, its still the same.. tried looking up what food they eat.. still no luck with the taming.. so is this a bug or am i doing something wrong? tried moving the taming bar to both sides (in server settings).. dident work.. tried restarting the game and restarting the server.. dident work either.. its as if the taming bar is loading but its not moving..

What are you trying to tame and what are you feeding it?

And how long are you waiting? It can appear to not move much sometimes for really long tames.

one of them was a trike lvl 6.. was feeding it the purple berries.. and ive been waiting for 45 mins -1 hour but it never ate any of the berries.. and same problem my friend had with what he was trying to tame.. forgot to ask him what he was taming, but hes been playing this game longer than me and its not working for him either.. and the bar did not move at all.. oh and food just stayed at 3000/3000

Are you running any mods?

If not, have you tried feeding it narcotics or narcoberries? Those normally make the food levels drop, so maybe it will unbug whatever was bugged.

Narcos just change the update time not how quickly food drains. Sounds like someone set the server to have food not decreasing, either that or a mod of some kind I'd guess.

i added 5 mods but then my friend couldent join the game.. so i removed them again.. and yes ive tried force feeding the trike both narcoberries and narcotics..

Server settings are most likely then, what's the food drain multiplier set to?

i havent touched the food drain multiplier so it should be standard setting..

Try checking the server file? If it's not eating and the food stat is staying still that's what the problem is, and if you don't have any mods installed then it's either the server settings or a very specific bug.

are you force feeding it? if you are dont leave it in the inventory it will it on its own if not delete the server and make a new.
also to get your freind into the modded server get him to downoald the mods and run a single player game with em then get him to join the server (:

How do i check the server file? by validating the game? and yes im forcefeeding it narcotics and narcoberries.. and he did get the same mods, but even with only 1 mod he still couldent join.. so i removed the mods.. and so did he. Could they (the mods) be the reason im having issues with taming?

I had this on my SP, killed the trike, and just tamed another. The only diffrence was that it was actually eating the berries, but litterally nothing happend, it was a low level and it was half way it's food bar and then it just quit progressing.

Makes me feel abit better about the taming issue knowing im not the only one with problems..

And i decided to delete the game and remaining game files, and start all over again.. coz im wondering if it was the mods that caused the problems.. or a bug.. or wrong settings.. but ill know sometime later today when i get to the taming part again.. Thanks guys for the help.. ill get back here if the problem continues after the reinstall.. :)

When you were taming it, did the taming bar go up to a certain point and stop or did it just not move from 0%? From the default settings you can only modify the food drain for characters and tamed dinos, so your settings shouldn't have been a problem. It's possible it was just a bug, or somehow the tame speed multiplier in your server settings was set to an extremely low number.

Your dinosaur food drain is turned off. Exit the game and fix it.
