Do Alphas mate boost or lay eggs?
Thinking of setting up a special "breeding program" on my private server to experiment with breeding when it comes out. Curious to find out if an Alpha egg or a female that breeds with a male Alpha will pass down some of those genes, whether it be attack statistics (hopefully nerfed but with some benefit), or simply unique color patterning.

In order to test this once breeding comes along, I'd like to know if Female Alphas lay eggs or if Male Alphas mate boost females?

Alphas already boost the ones around them so I sure hope they wouldn't get mate boosted as well, not that I would want to find them in pairs anyway. As far as I know they don't lay eggs, and are considered a seperate creature than their non-alpha bretheren as far as the game is concerned, so I would assume they don't lay eggs. Even if they did they would be regular eggs, not alpha-eggs.

Yes to both questions, they do not provide any additional benefits over regular versions though. They do lay eggs at a normal rate and do mate boost.

Two conflicting opinions. So do alphas mate boost regulars or just each other?

Bumping thread. Don't like doing it but I'd love an answer if anyone could provide one. It would be extra appreciated if screenshots could be provided.
