Fanmade Written Dossier: Brachiosaurus Titus
Common name: Brachio
Species: Brachiosaurus Titus
Time: Late Jurassic
Diet: Herbivore
Temprament: Passive

Wild:

Brachiosaurus Titus is by far the biggest species on the island standing over fifty feet tall no predator dares challenges it, not even the mighty Giganotasaurus. Brachiosaurus unlike the other resident sauropod Brontosaurus, Brachiosaurus stand vertically allowing them access to the tallest of trees. Another distinct difference between the Bronto and Brachio is how they care for their eggs, Brachio's do not protect their eggs like other animals on the island they lay them during their mating season, attempt to hide them and then leave. This allows scavengers a feast if they can find them. Brachio's are fairly social creatures and can sometimes be found near herds of Bronto's, other smaller animals sometimes gather near Brachio's as well for saftey as not many predators will risk an encounter with the titan. Some travelling tribes take advantage of this and co-exist with wild Brachio's and worship them as guardians.

Tamed:

It is near impossible to render an adult Brachio unconcious their metabolism is so high the tranq arrows dont hold much affect, the same goes for narcotics as they aren't as affective on them as other animals on the ark. Normally tribes try to find young Brachio's to tame by feeding them or finding the eggs and hatching them, these options comes with it's own complications as it is incrediby rare to find a young Brachio alive and even more rare to find a nest as they are extremley well hidden. Normally young Brachio's are killed by predators even though the parents lay so many eggs on the ark with its vast majority of predators most never reach adulthood. If one is found they are raised for a variety of different reasons, Brachio's necks allow them to reach the canopy and gather special berries these berries act just as prime meat for herbivores. Brachio's are also the ultimate convoy able to carry more then the bronto both in supplies and passengers, multiple people can ride on the back of a Brachio with it's saddle, while other tribes have built small mobile bases on their backs. Warring tribes use them as troop transports able to carry multiple passengers at once, another way warring tribes us them are as living siege towers. Crafting a special saddle some tribes use their long vertical necks as a ladder to scale even the tallest of walls.

Authors Notes:

The Brachiosaurus being the largest creature on the island would be almost impossible to render an adult unconcious with such a large torpor lvl it would be pointless to try. If they do put forward the effort and rener one unconcious the struggles would only get worse as narcotics affect are cut in half of their usua affectiveness on brachios only doing twenty torpor, and narcoberries only doing 3.5 torpor. Now reading this at first it might sound OP but the difficulty of aqquiring one would be one of the hardest things in ARK balancing it out. Finding a young wild Brachio would be one of the hardest, and most rare encounters in the game as Brachio's arent protective over eggs or the young inside, once they hatch they have to fend for themselves and most of if not the entire clutch of eggs is eaten by predators. Basically setting the spawn rate of a young brachio near 0, and even when one is found it would be the longest non violent taming process in the game taking maybe as long as it would to tame a bronto. Finding an egg and hatching it would be even more rare as they are extremley well hidden by the parents. Now its tremendous uses in pvp for sieging an enemy base would be balanced by its extremley slow movement speed. Shout out to Snoopy Sniper for the berry idea :). These super berries would act like prime meat but for herbivores and would only be able to be gathered by Brachio's.

So basically an end-game sauropod?

It's not a bad idea, I just wish it didn't have to be so dang hard to tame :/

Brachiosaurus has now been added to the Directory!

I wish I could make it easier to tame but i thought about people taming an army of Brachios on pvp servers that would be almost unstoppable, so i thought why not bring the actual sauropod behavior into the game an have them leave the eggs making the young fend for themselves. So I made it both rare and hard all for balancing sake.
Maybe don't make the taming process so long? The length increases the chance that they will grow up during the taming process.

I really like the idea.

I was thinking to make it more challenging. would be to have it take several in game days maybe a few weeks in game to grow up, also to help it grow you'd have to constantly be feeding it because sauropods were always eating.

this is a very nice idea, but sadly, the devs said the bronto will be the ONLY sauropod in the game. :(

A man can dream lol

Yes, but don't expect the devs to say: good idea we will add it...because they won't.

Really wish they would've picked a large sauropod to add into the game. Such as a Titanosaur or the Brachiosaur.

@Chuntington2013 - Did you read the dossier for the Bronto? They mention that it is larger then an Argentinosaurus, the largest sauropod with a confirmed size. The Bronto's in Ark are supersized. If they where based on real ones, they would be barely higher then a Spino and barely longer as well..... Not really a mobile base, that's certain...XD

The size on the bronto is ridiculous as it is mate :p I don't think a creature that size has ever existed.

This is correct Argentinasaurus is the largest sauropod with an estimated length of 98-115 ft. estimated height of 24 ft, and it's weight being from 88-110 tons. Wether this has changed since the last article i read on the matter I don't know but i think he's reffering to height in this case not length. Brachiosaurus for example was estimated to reach a height of 50 ft, the only way Brachiosaurus was bigger was in height. Now downplaying the bronto's in the game like you said is fairly rediculous, as it is bigger then the largest sauropod known to man. I think what he meant was he wanted to see one of the taller sauropods, not a larger sauropod.
Why Watt Sep 6, 2015 @ 11:15am
@bulldog702 - But aren't Titanosaurs not really built in height? They are more elongated, rather then verticle. And Argentino is only 24ft from what you say, that is around the height of a spino.

I just wish someone makes a mod to downsize the spino and t-rex
