Metal Arrows don't work either, I put 50 into one testing.
1 c4 didn't work either, but 3 did.
scorpions can put them to sleep, also dinos despawn eventually. I imagine there is also a limit on how many of each species can be active at anyone time. The only thing their survivability in the wild will likely effect is how rare high level ones will be, since low level ones do not die as frequently as other dinos.
I knocked one out before it curled up the other day as it was running toward me. Didn't take too many arrows either. On the other hand, I came across a curled up one and went through something like 150 arrows, before it would go out.
As for killing them, knock them out then kill them. Or just leave them alone. who cares.
If they are in their shell, I think you can only hurt them by hitting their head. Don't know for sure though. I saw a high level Alpha Carno gave up on a lvl 8 Doedicurus when they were just introduced. They are though little tanks :D
If you attack them solo, they don't roll-up either. A couple of tranq arrows in the head and they are knocked out. I haven't found any very high level ones yet, so your experience might differ.
Incorrect. You can knock them out before they curl, just like I stated in my previous post, else I wouldn't have one right now.
What? i shot a level 108 doedi with a crossbow a few times and knocked out he goes...
No curling up no nothing... Besided attacking me with its spiky tail...
Maybe the one i found had not suffered any hits before i started shooting it...
As i said, curling up is based on percentage of its health.
