Water Jar & Tap... Bugged?
I hooked up some water tanks on my roof and made some pipes down and ended with a tap.

Seems to work fine, pipes are blue and I can drink from the tap.

However, water jars appear bugged. When I first put them in it filled 3.5 up. After that it doesn't fill any more. Some appear to have 10% water left, others are just empty.

Why is this happening?

Perhaps the Water Tanks have run out?

Every time you refill a Water container at the tap, it'll drain from the Tanks unless you're connected to an infinite fixed water source (like the Ocean or a Lake / River).

Water reservoirs have a limited amount of water and won't refill unless it rains or you refill them manually. If you're close enough to a natural body of water you can just forget the resevoir and run a pipe to the water.

Not a bug, your water tank ran out of water. Gotta wait until it rains again.

Lol, I am genuinely surprised freshly every day by the level of simpletons that can't figure out very basic concepts.

Guys...

1. "pipes are blue and I can drink from the tap."
2. Jars are in the tap.
3. Tanks are full
4. It has rained at least 20 times since I frirst encountered this issue.

The water jars NEVER fill after the intial 3.5 jars of 5 being filled. I mentioned most of this in my opening post.

Bluestone, at least simpletons usually read before commenting.

If the taps were placed before the canteen update they won't refill. Just replace the taps with new ones and it should work.

You are not alone. I struggled so much now I have switched to permanant watet source....lots of piping work :(

Having the same problem... Water skins in the tap... raining, tanks full... able to drink from tap, see the water flow animation, skins fill just a very slight bit, not enough to work in cook pot.

Best advice would be to remove your full bottles. I have a funny feeling they are being counted as part of the total quantity of your tank. Therefore, the game sees your tanks as full.

"More tanks" may also be helpful. You may need the total potential storage of your tanks to be higher than the potential storage of your bottles/canteens. Canteens especially will be difficult, since they take 300 water to fill; more than an entire stone tank. (space compression? heck if I know)

I have a water tap that will only fill up my water jars half way. The pipes are connected to a water source (in this case, a river) correctly and the pipes are blue. The other tap works perfectly fine. I've thought about just replacing the tap, but it seems whenever I destroy something connected to my pipeline, some of the pipes get destroyed too. So I just live with a faulty tap.

Water flows in discreet units, if there are not enough WHOLE units of water, the waterjar, canteen, waterskin won't fill, the tanks contain 3 units of water but the water can uses 3.5, unless you have a full 4th unit, it will act as if there is no water.

usually this is not an issue when you have a infinite water source since units isn't an issue, but yes, if you have .5 a unit in EACH tank, say 3 for example, your thinking, that's 1.5 units, I should get one more.

WRONG, as far as the game is concerned, those tanks are empty, and those .5 units are useless because they aren't whole units.

But when it rains, should not everything fill?
