It takes 100 points of armor to double a human's HP. It only takes 25 (the default level for any saddle) to double a dino's HP. If you find better saddles or better saddle blueprints you can further up-armor your dinos.
Mate boosting also gives a significant buff to damage reduction and can be thought of as a way to armor.
lets face it sa saddle giving armor is complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and makes zero sense
I WANT MY BATTLE MAMMOTHS!
Survivor, Darktrooper117 asks, “Will we ever be able to put Gigantopithecus into a suit of battle armor, give it a mace, and use it as a shock trooper in warfare?”
Answer:
So we’ve launched the Gigantopithecus with the ability to equip headgear, this is the first step we’ll be taking into introducing armour onto creatures! In the future you’ll be able to have fully weaponized and armoured pets to take into battle. We’ll see about a full suit of armor and melee weapons for the Gigantopithecus, but never-say-never ;)
I could easily see trikes and such able to sport additional armor, or carry some sort of small primitive ballista or other additions (storage box or saddlepacks?). Just not multiple things at the same time from weight.
It be a nice addition thing later to aim for dinosaurs down the line.
Edit:Tweaked for clarity.
