My 3 dinos just got rekt by a single alpha raptor level 9.
So I had a stego level 17, a trike level 22, and a para which obv doesn't do much, but still, level 15, and they all got rekt by a level 9 alpha raptor. Today I learned my lesson. Stay the ♥♥♥♥ away from alphas, or come super prepared.

Yes, for an alpha raptor you might be able to kill it with a lvl 120+ rex.... maybe a little lower level, but I wouldn't recommend it. Stay away from Alphas unless you are absolutely prepared.

As a general rule, take an Alpha's level and multiply it by at least 5. That is effectively how strong it is compared to a normal dino of that species. So for instance this Alpha might have been lvl 9, but it was effectively as strong as a level 45-60 normal raptor.

Read some on Alpha Dinos, then you will find you're answer, Alpha dino is super strong, like he is no match for you're poor dinos, and level 9 pftt.

... I am the alpha slayer on my server.... my level 228 rex sole purpus is to hunt down alphas and even that gets damn close some times when taking on a 120 alpha T-rex... Alphas will ruin your day if you don't learn how to lure them places or run like hell

Damn, that's insane. 5 times the normal level. It makes total sense though....thanks for feedback.

Not a 120+ Rex, you can easily kill it with a level 40 or so with enough health and damage.

Yea REX lvl 40 can handle it pretty simple.

You can look up the numbers around the web, though they have some variation. For example a Lvl 1 Rex has 1000 HP and 60 attack. A Lvl 1 Alpha Rex will have 7000 HP and 300 attack.

A trick you can use to killing Alpha Carnos and Raptors is to use something with high attack speed a lot of reach, like a spinosaurus, very high lvl trike, or bronto. If you can keep them knocked back and outside of their range while you can hit them; you'll win.

Lol no. Alpa Raptors are nothing to Rex's with even half decent stats. You don't need an apex 120 rex to kill a level 9 raptor.

Personally I hate alphas on the whole because they are wholly uninteresting content with a half baked design. Still, lets not make them out to be more than they are.

That said, you need more than trash dinos to kill them. Anything tamed under level 70 is a trash dino.

I killed a Raptor with a crossbow and pike :/ Since theyre so buggy just keep moving and spamming. It took some time, a few minutes but i went from level 47 to 52 :)

Also, i was only wearing Hide.

That's a bit much. I've killed level 30 alpha raptors on my level 55 spino (10K health, 500% dmg).

But yeah alpha raptors are to be steered clear of until you have powerful dinos and/or powerful ranged weapons. Oh, and a cliff to shoot down from.

A level 9 Alpha raptor is MUCH, MUCH stronger than a level 120 normal raptor.

You could probably kill a max level alpha rex with a mediocre spino, spinos have very high knockback in their bite.

Either you're on an official server or a pretty bad private one. Either way the only way you pulled that off without getting it stuck is through lag shield.

Would not suggest trying that on any low ping server.

This only works on high latency servers. On low latency servers, raptors don't miss and they wreck you.

Yeah, Spinos are amazing for killing alpha raptors/carnos. My freshly tamed spino (4k health, only about 600% melee damage) took 0 damage taking on a level 56 alpha carno because of the knockback on them.
