Too hard to keep hunger up?
So I started playing this game and the hunger seems really hard to keep up for ex: I have to keep eating to keep it up constantly, so is it always like this were you keep having to eat constantly? or eventually do you get to a point were ur a high enough lvl to not have to eat as often?

Well you must be cold/freezing (that makes you consume more food so use torch or a camp fire)

You can try to put points in your hunger but I don't recommend this especially early on where you need to put points in other things (Health and damage for example).

Hunger and thirst are trivial most of the time.

Early in the game, eat meat. You should get this with regularity just from killing dilos that attack you.

Once you have your first mount capable of harvesting berries, you should never go hungry again. ~40 berries can more than fill half of your hunger bar, and should take at most thirty seconds to get using a dino.

Thirst is not a problem as all water on the ARK is currently drinkable, and you just need to keep an eye on your waterskin to travel safely inland. Once you have a water jar (if you can stand carrying it around) or canteen thirst is a non-issue with all the rain.

stop sprinting everywhere

If you let your stamina hit 0 it will use up more thirst and hunger then if you let it just get close. You should always try and stop and regenerate befor then if you're not in danger

Well, there are a few things to consider here. The cold, as another has pointed out, causes your food to be used up faster. As another user has mentioned, you could up your food, but I, like him/her, think that is a bad idea. You could also increase fortitude some as that will help a bit too. As you get armors with better hypothermic insulation, cold weather will not affect you or your food stat as much. There are soups you can make to combat this as well.

Did I miss anything that wasn't already mentioned?

Also when you're injured you burn it up faster until you fully heal.

alright thanks I probably won't die of hunger anymore :)

Number one advice to new players, don't sprint everywhere, only when you are in danger. Hunger and thirst last way way way longer if you're walking rather than sprinting.

Depends, what are you doing? Sprinting? Fighting? I suspect you are doing both of these. You will eat a lot while doing both. Once you get some wheels, your food use will go down.

Tip: When you login, kill dilos and dodo's until you get 40 meat or so. Cook it, place it on a hotbar.

My wife, brother and I started playing a week ago (got 45hrs in already), and were struggling with hunger initially, seemed like all we did was try to find find food. Then we got our first trike and food is never an issue now. 5 minutes berry farming with a trike and you'll have so many berries you wont know what to do with them all. We also have a little dodo farm so if we are around base we always have eggs to eat. We only use meat now to feed are dinos or to spoil it for narcotics.

Now that food isn't an issue anymore we've been focusing on building up our base and taming. (We got our own private server so we could learn the game before jumping into a public server)

As you level up, another stat you can put a few points into is fortitude. My fortitude is up to 30 and I can notice a difference. Fortitude causes your thirst and hunger meters to go down slower in hot/cold weather. Once you get a dino that can farm a decent supply of berries, a full stack will fill up your thirst and hunger meter. I usually carry a couple stacks on me so I can stay away from camp for a good while.
