How can new players survive in a PVP server?

So me and a few friends started playing in an Offical NA server about a week ago. We didn't want to play in PVE or a boosted EXP/Taming/Harvesting for the challenge and want to run into PVP action eventually, that sounds like a lot of fun.

But literally every night we log off we get our door broken down, killed, and all storage crates broken. So the loss of everything we have gained and scavenged for is lost.

And guess what level we are killed by.....levels 75's of course.

How can new players advance in an Official server or just survive the night with out losing all resources? We don't want to play in just PVE, and we don't want to play by ourselves in a private. I understand playing in a PVP server, you have the chance of being attacked by other players, but loosing all resources every other day is getting pretty frustrating and discouraging to the point of seeing no point to continue on.

Our ideas were some sort of level / level fighting. If your level 75, it doesn't seem right that they can fly around the map slaughtering level 10's, unless they attack the 75 first. Some sort of, if you are within 10/15 levels of someone, then you should be allowed to attack them. It's just very discouraging towards new players.

The high level players killing low level, really isn't the biggest issue, the main thing is just getting raided every night and losing 5 to 6 hours of resources put in, and not being able to ever expand because of this.

This post isn't meant to cry and complain about the game, we've really enjoyed it so far, but what i'm really trying to do, is get some sort of input on how to play this game PVP style?

Offline raiding is the PvP in this game, it's a huge time sink and it's more of a resource grind to win PvP. Over actually fighting.

It seems like the way the game works is it favors the early players. To level when no one was able to attack you/your base would be a huge huge advantage. This is an issue that needs to be address in some form.

Take the time to find a quality unofficial with settings sort of like you want. Lots of servers restrict PvP/raiding to certain hrs or days.

1.) Go stone ASAP. Anything below that is worthless beyond temp structures.

2.) Find your neighbors and talk to them. Make friends. Make allies. Trade.

3.) Say away from the beaches.

4.) Double up everything. Double walls, double doors. Etc.

5.) Build smart. Build buildings that are hard to navigate and have doors leading to empty rooms. Make it annoying for people to raid you.

6.) Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Diversity your loot in multiple buildings and in hidden caches.

The key thing to do is going to be to spend your resources till you can get something harder to break into, like stone. Once you can do that, you'll want to pick up and move from your current known location and move somewhere more hidden. If you're on the beach...get off. Build in the forest somewhere.

Focus on survival and xp for now. Patch up your doors so you don't get eaten by dinos but if people don't find anything worth taking day after day, most will get bored. When you start building a more permanent base, double everything. Most players will break in through doors or ceilings, so have a double ceiling and double doors. If your base is a pain in the neck to get into, it becomes less worth it to raid.

All in all, there is no way to make yourself completely raid-proof. But if you make yourself as raid-resistant as possible, and don't keep large stockpiles of materials, you'll be able to advance relatively unhindered.

Play with the expectation that everything will be wiped next time you log on. Focus more on exploring and levelling up. Big, flashy bases are a huge bullseye. When you are relatively new you might consider hiding chests underwater. These can still be easily spotted and broken into by players riding aquatic dinos, but it is less obvious. And remember to lock it! If something looks like it's worth the time and resources to break in, someone will do it.

You can also go underwater, that´s what we did on official pvp, as soon as you can make the itchy saddle search for an empty underwater cave, build some behemoth gates and from that on you can build up defense inside.

Go to the south Islets & build on the many rocks there. Tame Dilos lots of them, Raptors if you can.

they just need to Wipe servers already... im sick of all the max level players and max level dino's..

I already gave up on this game... but ill return once they Wipe all the Official servers.

its just a waste of time playing this game waking up and redoing everything all over again. because some gay max level trys and messing with you.

ive played on 100 differnt servers and there all the same... notthing changed... you cant Start over when everyones still Max level it doesn't work.


they need Need servers or wipe the Old ones... then the game will be fun again.

I have over 10 Toons over level 65 on 10 differnt servers.

i made over 90 other toons around level 30-40

every time i log in and my base is gone.. I leave the server and Start Over... but you cant because everyone else is still max level... on the Other servers so theres no starting over...

which kills the game for me and my friends cause we wanna play on a New server with everyone level 1 again

I don't play on PvP but i still have suggestions for you, just focus on levling up instead of collecting stuff. Level up until you can build metal doors, walls and so on and then build a small metal house, and slowly expand it. When you get the resources.

Dude, just stay gone, this isn't the game for you. They already wiped servers once, it didn't change the "fairness" that people complain about. Wiping servers does nothing except piss off the real players who devote some time to playing smarter. You've been on 100 servers? With your 483 hours played? Obviously you either got pissed and ragequit immediately because someone else already took the special spot you wanted, or you never devoted any time to learning to deal with other players and tribes. Like I said before, I truly think another style of game would fit you a bit better.

1: Abandon your base.
2: Abandon your tribe.
3: Move somewhere inland that's not too close to resources like metal and crystal, but also not too far away (within flying distance, but not walking distance). Stay close enough to a beach that you can walk to one to pick up stones along the shore.
4: Grind straight to stone. Don't build a single wood structure. Ferry stone from a nearby beach to your house. Use autohotkey to repeatedly tap E for you
5: Build a small, unnoticeable stone base.
7: IMPORTANT: Do not chat in global chat. Ever. Do not respond to people who pick you up on a bird and carry you away. Be boring. Be ignorable.
8: Level up. Tame a raptor. Don't tame a bunch of dinos until you build a stone pen with ceilings that cover up aerial attacks.
9: Learn how many c4 it takes to blow up any given thing. Think long and hard about how much effort it would take to blow into a certain room vs the value of the contents of that room. Design with this forethought is your best friend.
10: Invite your tribemates back.
