Auto Turrets and their targeting parameters

OK so a couple questions about auto turrets. These may be dumb questions but this is the first time I have ever used any so cut me some slack :P

1. Do they rotate 360 degrees to track and shoot targets?
2. Can they detect targets from all angles even if the turret is not facing said angle? ie. Can they detect targets behind them? (Assuming they have Line of sight)

yes and yes just need good range and it will shot

1) yes
2) not all angles, directly below them doesn't work to well other wise coverage is pretty much
3) the LOS is a bit buggy, and thy won't attack something thats behind your tame dinos for instance and some times they do.

other wise turrets are a worth while investment for base protection... the only down side is keeping them filled with ammo if you are in a hot spot or are on a PVP server

Alright, thanks guys. And yes, well I wouldn't call where i am a hot spot, making ammo is still a pain. Or at least getting enough charcoal is lol

well one of the bases I have set up is in the mountains and it gets bloody swarmed by argi's all the damn time... having the anti-air defence helps LOTS.
