Apes & Alphas not spawning in single player game...
I have been playing the game every day on single player since they were introduced and I have yet to see either. I have killed every dino I have seen with my Rex, I explored the whole island with my pteranodon, I have wiped all the dinos out with the destroy_ commands. I have even seen the newest Doedicurus dinos but I have still not seen any Gigantopithecus or any Alphas at all. Talking on the reddit /playark sub, I got lots of suggestions where they spawn, and I checked them all out ( https://www.reddit.com/r/playark/comments/3i57uc/where_on_this_map_do_the_gigantopithicusapes_spawn/ ) yet they still have alluded me. I did see a thread saying that maybe they are not in a "list" to spawn for single player, but I dunno why that would be.

Anyone have any ideas what is going on?

I've managed to kill 3 alpha raptors and 1 alpha carno in my singelplayer. I don't really know what seems to be the problem for you.. but i am not experiencing it :/

It takes a while for new dinos to spawn I think. I've scourged the map back and forth to get the insects to finally spawn. Use admin command to wipe all dinos in the map and wait 1 hour in your base or something until new dinos spawn. This worked for me.

I saw like nothing but alphas in my SP game until I turned them off.. But yeah, I never saw an aura. Just very larger and faster t-rexes and such. But don't think it's SP related. It took awhile before I found the first ape too, more now that the spawns have let them in.

You don't see the cheetos dust aura if you're the admin, this includes single player. I am sure they are there. They are slightly bigger than normal, and quite a bit faster when running, try looking for that.
Yeah, I've noticed this too. Is there any way that you can turn that aura on even when you're admin.. or if not, is there a way to make yourself not be an admin on singleplayer?

Not that I have found - I tried running as server and running another copy as client but steam forbids it.
Well that's a shame. Thanks anyway :)

Lucky You..!! o.O ... I got Apes all over the place, and the Alphas just don't want to leave me alone on my SP..

Maybe you're just missing them or looking to hard.....?

I've seen the apes, alpha raptors and alpha carno. Have yet to see an Alpha Rex although I'm glad. Admittadly I did a lot of slaughtering of Dinos. It took a day or so for them to spawn but now they are every where including the new Doedicuarus. Yes, I play SP.
