Dino & B-Dino Gates Disappearing
I have built 2 wood Dino Gates and each one just disappeared some time between 20 and 60 seconds. I then build a Stone B-Gate and it disappeared right before my eyes about 45-60 seconds after it was built. Opened and closed the gates is all that was done. Was demolishing walls far away from any gate and putting up walls etc all not anywhere near the gates. So I had a tribemember (leader) come over and build the smaller Dino Gate - about 5 min later I come back and its gone. This is getting ridiculous that they are disappearing. Can we fix this issue? Anyone else noticing this issue? Has started after 202 patch for me - otherwise haven't really had issues with this game.

Ditto on the disappearing gates. That is a whole lot of resources I will never see again.

@Greywolf_DaHealer: Did it happened after the patch that added the doed ?

I think I got the same problem. I lost 2 Stone Dino Gateways because of this bug.

It seems that replacing a fence by another or destroying a fence several tiles away from the gataway just make the gateway explode (and if the Dinosaur Gate was also built it is destroyed too). All the material from the gateway is lost.

Please note that the affected gateways where placed above stone fence foundations in my case.

I lost two gateways+doors with this problem during the last day..

Please fix :(

(By the way, this thread should be moved to the Bug Report section imho)

I have been testing it in single player and I can confirm your findings. It appears that whenever I adjust any part of a wall which is connected to dinosaur gates one of them will invariably be destroyed with no refund of materials. Sometimes they explode like they are demolished and sometimes they have simply vanished. All cases were tied to stone fence foundations in my cases as well. I might experiment more later to see if the fence foundation is relevant to the issue or not.

Edit 1

Also, I did not experience this issue prior to the introduction of update V202 however, I cannot necessarily say with any confidence that it is directly tied to the patch, but I assume it is.

Edit 2

I have tested it fairly thoroughly now. Any gate tethered to a fence foundation will be demolished without a refund of materials if any other part of the wall also tethered to the same fence foundation is demolished regardless of distance to the gate.

If you demolish a wall, window frame, fence foundation or any other object which is linked to the the foundation your gateway (behemoth or regular) will be demolished as well. You do not receive a refund. It occurs 100% of the time. Distance to the gate along the chain of fence foundations has no impact on the end result.

This was tested with stone, wood, and metal and it occurred in all three different materials and all types of gates.

A gate that is NOT tethered to a fence foundation will NOT be destroyed.

A temporary work around is to not build gates on the fence foundations, or to not demolish any entities linked to the fence foundation chain your gate is tethered to. You can add anything you wish to the fence foundation and it will not impact the gates. Only demolishing will destroy the gate.

I am also opening a thread for this in the bugs section. The devs are phenomenal with hotfixes and I am sure that if they aren't already fixing it, then it will be fixed as soon as possible.

Thanks for the testing and information :)

This only happens when said dinosaur gate it connected to the walls with fence foundations of either wood or stone (not sure about metal if those exist, im not that far into the game to use metal building yet)
the location of the gate is to have no fence foundations, you dont need it, just leave that space open with room enough for your gate and place the gate on solid ground
i have a wall around my base which is basically just 50 wooden dinosaur gates standing right next to eachother and removing a misplaced one did not remove the ones it was snapped on to
(used a doedicurus and castoroides for the recources, also got 4 stone behemoths)

so the issue is between fence foundations and gates, now inside my base i still have dinosaur gates standing on fence foundations, so i assume those WILL disappear if i try to remove anything from that building

but the thing is, just remove the two fence foundations
then place the gate on solid ground in the open space you just created, should work
unless you snap it to the side of either of the 2 fence foundations on its sides (if thats possible)

i have 3 stone gates on the main building standing on fence foundations so i need to wait for this to be fixed untill i can edit that building, though if i happen to accidentaly break anything and have to redo those walls, ill be removing the fence foundations too

i am 99% sure the issue is in the fence foundations
and i am 90% sure that placing the gate on solid ground will not have it broken upon editing your base

good luck and happy surviving everyone

From terrible memory... i think if you take out the fence foundations where your gates will be.... finish your fence.... then place the gate foundations last.... they should be safe after that. But.... i think i need to test this.
