using the -ForceRespawnDinos command
can this be done as a console command, or does this need to be added to server command in the bat file?

I didn't use the startup command. Just went in the console in game and typed cheat DestroyWildDinos instead. Server will stall momentarily. Do not fear!

The console equivalent is admincheat destroywilddinos. -ForceRespawnDinos is a command line param.

I've used it many times; it will - if you interact with the world and nothing works for a while that's a good sign, it's deleting and regenerating. You should always backup before using such commands though. Also pretty much any of the server options that start with the hyphen are command line, i.e. part of the command used to start the server.

When I use Destroywilddinos, there's a tiny hiccup at first then things run fine for about 5 seconds. Then the game totally freezes. Is this how it works? Will it unfreeze if I wait X-amount of time? How long should I wait before I consider it totally frozen and have to restart the game?

I know this most likely depends on the PC, but just looking for more info on how the command line actually works.

When I use the Destroywilddinos command the game lags out as others have said would happen, then I get kicked from the server and nobody is able to connect to it again until I restart it. Also, the command line version of this doesnt seem to do anything for me. Anyone else experienceing this?

This basically destroys all the wild dinos, make them all dissapear, and then new dinos start respawning in their place, when the devs make changes to spawn placements, this command forces the new spawn places to now spawn, otherwise the new dino locations will NOT spawn till the old ones are dead... or there abouts...

Have not expereinced this myself but that is normal... I find its probably actually better to do a server-restart right after you do that command anyway, so it refreshes better. Why people get kicked I don't know that particular issue im affraid.

Yeah, I understand how it works. Mine was just freezing up completely when doing it. I just had to wait longer and the game would resume. After this recent performance increase, the wait time went down greatly.
