Desert Biome location
Red Oblisk is the logical location. Who knows when this biome will come but plenty of warning. While I may be wrong my guess is few will argue that this seems logical.

Probably at least a month, more likely 3, till it comes out.

hope they just add whole new land mass with different Biomes going forward , these ones were ok , but the map will feel way to small if they just keep using existing land masses

I agree it will get a little tight. Seems so already in the south half. I would not mind a larger map but being this is my first sand box game like this I do not know how likely map expansion is.

They will be adding Desert and updatng Jungle / grasslands. Least I hope that's their plan considering they did a excellent Job with Snow / Swamp.

That would be fantastic! They've done so well with the snow and swamp biome, I bet a Desert would be just as well done.

No, the desert biome will be a new map last time I heard. I remember someone asked about wells and they said we might need them but not on this ark. Then there was talk of other maps and one of them will have a desert.

+1 on how today turned out. It was time to build a new base. The old ones where getting a little crowded and worn.

I would love to see the map extended especially if they have a desert region. The snow biome is great the swamp biome does nothing for me but that is just a personal preference not a criticism

Awe, you are not looking forward to taming a frog, naming it Kermit? I have already renamed my Phiomia Ms Piggy.

There are some places around the map that would make a great deal of sense as a desert biome... and they've said repeatedly that they want to more than double (one said quadruple) the size of the ocean from its current size. Mosasaur will barely fit in the ocean at its current size, and the squidmonster would be able to touch both the beach and also the forcefield at the same time in several locations if they added it right now. Seems likely the ocean will become deeper and also much wider when they get around to those changes.

Also I think they have discussed more than once adding a whole second island to the existing map when they do the ocean expansion, and that the reasons they haven't done that yet are many and varied but that once they get most of the biomes in and are ready to expand the ocean we should expect to see them pushing the envelope in that direction.
One reason they would not have expaned the map thus far may be server load. They probably need to reach a level of stabilty to be able to optimize enough for that. Additional map should not affect PC load though.
