They're probably just the ones that were left over from the previous version. Kill them off and they might not respawn

Seeing as reptiles are cold blooded and need heat to function, this makes sense. I'm not a biologist, but wouldn't they go into hibernation or migrate or something?

-Edit CautiousCreeper makes a good point.

What ? I haven't played yet, but yes it's obvious that i don't want to see one single dinosaur in the snow. It's weird that the developers have not thought of that.

Dinos =/= Reptile just an FYI. Not to mention there is a lot of debate on which were cold blooded(if any) or were warm blooded, or something in between.

yea its kinda got me off, btw cautious, i force repopulated the map, and walked into the snow biome to find heaps of carnivores in there, honestly i dont wanna see any reptiles in the snow biome

Mesothermic seems to be the current answer- I.e., they were able to regulate their body temperature to an extent, but they did not have the metabolism of mammals or modern-day dinosaurs (birds). We're actually trying to figure out when exactly birds made the switch, because early birds seem to have been mesothermic as well. Either way, definitely not cold blooded.

yes that is true, but we are in a snow biome, equivalent to that of the ice age, of which most reptiles, died off, or went into hibernation, thats y in my opinion that just dont fit in, to an era which was mostly dominated by mammals

Little reminder that theropods were actually feathered. Ours aren't, so admittedly they should probably not be there for thematic reasons. We honestly don't have enough cold-adapted fauna to fill that biome though- I think they're just placeholding. Dimetrodon would make sense, as it is noted in its own dossier to be able to survive those conditions. The concept art for the ice cave did have a raptor in it though, so this may be intentional. IF so, I would like to see a unique look for these "snow dinos". Pachyrhinosaurus would have been perfect, as one species WAS an arctic dinosaur.

i like that idea, hopefully devs would consider it

There have been many species that were found within what are currently considered temperate areas but where at one point in time closer to Tundras and/or far colder than they currently are. Not to mention ya know we have alien tech and science experiments so dun see why it should obey reality.

yes, please remove them!

Animals should spawn in their apprpriate environment. Doesn't mean they will or that they stay there though.
