You are right, there is sand on the beach. How would you propose they make it harvestable?
As for crystals, that makes sense. Then we just need actual glass "items" such as real windows is all I am getting at.
How to make the sand harvestable? Considering the current harvest mechanic it would have to be specific piles that you dig up.
Or possibly add quartz to the stone mining chance, much like metal is now.
And windows? Agree completely! I'd love a series of items using glass. Like windows, full glass walls so you can make underwater bases that are airtight, windshields, all sorts of things.
There are already glass bottles, glass used in optics, and glass used in the diving mask. I could totally see expanding on that.
