Numpad mapping not working under Linux

So I just bought this game today, and since I'm left handed. I tend to use the arrow keys and numpad for most controls. But when I try to map actions to the numpad, it either says unassigned or puts some weird key like when I press 3 on numpad I get "Left Bracket" and 4 "Backslash"..etc?

What's going on?

I'm getting this as well. NumLock has no effect. I have compiled a list of the resulting bindings from each Numpad key; including the NumLock key, out of curiosity and for completeness.

Fextina, what OS are you running? I'm using Arch Linux x86_64, with KDE Plasma 5 for my desktop environment.

I'm using Kubuntu 15.04 64bit with also KDE Plasma 5.

I've been having this issue for months as well.
Linux Mint 17.2 Cinnamon 2.6.13 64-bit
English (US) keyboard layout

It's annoying because I used to have the numpad set to my whistles before the linux release on Windows, but now it's very difficult to bind them without knowing which key is which looking at the binding page. It also can interfere with my other binds I have set.

I played again a few months ago and still had the issue. Now with Proton and Steam Play, I suggest trying to run Ark with proton if you have the space for the beefy Windows version. The Linux version of the game is pretty neglected.

Doubtful. I always forget about that because I disable it on my dedicated server.

One workaround I use: Switch the keys to Shift+1, Shift+2, etc in Input.ini:
