"Triggered" - There can only be one leader.
Alpha dinos can be female m8, I kill them anyway

Wolf packs in the wild are more of a family anyway.

I don't think the dossiers have mentioned any of the alphas being a specific sex. It's just "an alpha". At least regarding the direwolves.

Because that's not how primitive behavior worked or works in wild animals today. Humans are a little unique, and only in recent history and not in all countries, in that females are considered equal or work into leadership positions. Wild animals don't give a crap about political correctness or how a person feels about their position. And in their world, females do not become physically dominant creatures with hot tempers and and enough strength to demolish even most other males.

The purpose of this would be what? It would be the same drops, same stat increase, same xp, different name. Alphas are females and males so I really dont see the point to this

No, because the last thing we need is mate boosted alphas, the game is hard enough as it is....

Matriarch Mammoth perhaps? But alpha isn't gender exclusive anyway, there are often both alpha males and females in groups of animals.

Actuallly, there are ALOT of animals where the females ARE dominant. Sperm whales, hyaenas, horses, ants, bees, birds of prey, spiders (there ARE colonial ones), elephants etc. Males are not always the dominant gender.

most arachnids,Frogs and insects have female over male,as for this game the dinos change sex randomly anyway. they should make only male Alpha's and do dominant females
Lusewing Sep 25, 2015 @ 3:26pm
While the Dino's are not reptiles, reptiles are widely known for having much bigger and stronger females then males. I see no reason why Alpha's should not stay as they are and not be gender exclusive.

Colony based creatures with queens might have female "leaders" but they are far from dominant. And all it takes is an adequate challenger and even the queens followers will often tear them apart. I can't think of a single species that has a physically dominant female that would fit the profile of an "Alpha". The closest would be the insects where the female itself kills or eats the male after using them for fertilization.
