Paracer is Great but...
I think it's attack should be small radius AOE, when something attacks it from behind, it's near impossible to turn it around to attack it back. It should have an AOE attack like the mammoth. Another thing, it's carry weight. Tamed a lvl 68 last night. tamed with only 600 weight. On something that's twice the size of a stego, its base carry weight is only 60 more. Considering it's a mobile platform dino, I think it should be bumped up to 700 base carry weight. Almost twice that of a stego, but still 200 less than a bronto. Its base HP is very similar to the bronto, and its melee damage is the same as one. (don't nerf the damage). Why's the carry weight almost half?

Other than this, I love this thing to death.

TL;DR: Paracer should get a small radius AOE attack, and bumped base carry weight to 700 for balance.

Yeah, a good carry weight was the only thing that would have made these worth while. I can't think of a used for them, the way they are. I think they should have had a low-level (15-20) wood platform, to act as a starter base for newer players.

Agreed. I mean, I really enjoy them. But with them being awful at gathering berries, their carryweight should be higher. Even if they had the same stats, they still wouldn't replace the bronto due to platform size and the awesome berry gathering of brontos.

The only problem with the wood platform is it is easily broken by other dinos (if they make it that way.) Without stone walls, my forges got destroyed quick. Their platform saddle is actually really cheap to make.

They are a starter platform Dino, so early game, you can get a very small mobile base going on. Later on, when you have Brontos for that, they work as great assault platforms, as there movespeed and stam is much better then a bronto, while still having similar HP. They can only hold 30 instead of 50 things on the platform, but they work great as ballistia or auto turret defense/offence.

There inventory wight is plenty for the ammo of weapons, ballistia bolts are not that heavy, so you can have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of them on a pair of ballistias, as you ride into battle with two of your friends hammering away at everything in sight.

Much like how the big bird with a platform that will eventually come, will be a flying variant more or less.

I'm aware of all of this. However, there's still no reason for it to have carry weight of only 60 more than the stego, while still taking longer to tame than a stego. Who's saddle is tamed at the same level. 700 base carry weight is still 200 below that of the bronto's. Maybe you want it for ballistas, but I'm sure many people wanted it for other things. Considering how maneuverable it is compared to the bronto.

Not everyone plays PvP ( I do), or has active tribe members (like me) to go raiding bases with them. I am using mine to take my ankylo up the mountain and gather metal. But when I can only return with about 300 ingots, it really sucks.

+1
I hate getting attacked from behind and not being able to turn.

Mobiles iron works. You could use a bronto for the same thing but for a tribe like mine with a fair distance to metal that's simply not a reasonable option due to the slow speed of that creature. Paraceratherium is just a lot nimbler and faster and can carry loads of ingots as well.

Edit: and about the talks about the bronto supposedly being faster than the paracer, I got a bronto and paracer at about the same level and I'll tell you the paraceratherium is probably twice as fast as the bronto

I would like to use these guys as pack mules if not increase base carry weight a least increase the per point increase on weight.

I was blown away by the paracer personally---but its all about perspective i supposed.

If i had kept my max lvl toon when the biomes came--the paracer would be useless i suppose since i already had every dino. BUT--i started a fresh toon and since you can make a saddle for teh paracer at such a low lvl he was a Godsend!

we decided to make our base in the hidden valley where 2-3 spawn normally. that little cliff in teh valley is perfect for taming them since they get stuck, and i was aboutt o take a lvl 80+ right off the bat. She is now 97...and she is my main workhorse. She only has 102% speed but she goes at a decent enough clip that i havn't needed to increase it.

i never liked the brontos as mounts because i thought they were TOO big...and thos tails always moved em around if they were at the wrong angle. Paracers are more nimble, smaller and just all around better imo. Sure the hit box/attack is smaller, but the turning is pretty good so i have never had a problem.

plus--who leaves on a supply train with out escorts? i would never wander without my wolfpack as protection...heck even before i had them I had a simple supply run of just the paracer, a trike, and a pachy--and they made mince meat of anything that came thier way.

all in all i like the paracer. Plus--they look like a walking phalus.

Don't get me wrong. I love the paracer. I just think that they should balance the weight a bit more leaning towards the bronto, swing as it is the second largest dino in the game so far.
