PS4? Will it even work?

Since ARK is coming out on XBOX One and PS4, I was wondering a few things.

Okay, in the announcement, the wording of their sentence didn't make sense to me, my apologies. Is ARK coming out on both consoles early 2016, or just one?

Second, I've heard from some people the game is poorly optimized. Will the consoles even run the game with good FPS, and good detail? The creators keep adding more things to the game, and if the game is poorly optimized as people have said, how will the PS4 and XBOX One play the game if it 'works terribly on PCs' as it is?

Consoles are the bread and butter of gaming. Quite simply wildcard will make a huge amount of money compared to PC releases, simply because thats how the industry works. This is good, it means they have more money to spend on the game, and it gives the game a longer term future, ensuring more updates.

If your a PC gamer, you *want* it to be released on console, because it means more money to spend on the PC port.

no one is judging how the game will be based on its alpha build and im not going to get into a platform war. All i think is based on its current state theres no way its releasing in under a year on anything unless its a rough full game which wont be received well.

I've got a PS4, I'm not really a pc game, havent gamed on a pc for at leat 10 years, always used consoles. Recently, I had a change of mind about gaming on a pc. I want to play games in the living room, but our pc is upstairs and the laptops aren't build for gaming. When I found out about in home streaming by steam, we tried it out. It works very well. So, we decided to upgrade the pc to it's max. i7 3770, 16Gb RAM, GTX 750 Ti 2Gb. Not the best specs, but imo still good. We've got the Crew on the Xbox 360, the PS4 and I tried the demo on the PC. Going from the Xbox 360 to the PS4 is a world of difference. But... to our huge surprise going from the PS4 to the PC is a world of difference again. The pc version has so many more details, so much more going on. The graphics on medium settings on the pc are about the same as they are on the PS4, but our pc handles ultra settings just fine. The PS4 doesn't even come close to that.

This will happen to ARK as well. They will have to take out things and lower graphical stuff to get the game running well on the consoles. Of course, ARK will be more optimized in time to come, but they will also add more and more stuff to it as well. The consoles will run ARK on medium at the most and even then I'm pretty sure they will leave out lots of details and even features most likely as well. I'm all for games being released on consoles. But, contrary to what some state, if you want the full experience, you need to play on pc. All the games I've tried so far on both the pc and PS4 simply confirm that, the console version is a lower res stripped down version. As long as you never play the same on the pc, you wil never notice though. Now that I've tried it, no way I'm returning to my PS4.

On top of it the wait..... I can play ARK now, instead of wating a whole year (most like even more). Not to even mention the price. Most pc prices are way lower.

Not in this case. ARK on pc has sold already so many copies, they will never reach that number wit the consoles at all.
