Elevators on Buildable Saddles and Rafts
Any particular reason this isn't an option? Seems that if the logical argument were weight, torsion, etc. the same would apply to heavy ♥♥♥♥ being on them, period. As it stands, I can't see a reason as to why not to allow them, unless it actually doesn't work in the game engine. Devs?

It probably could work since the platforms are basically the same thing as normal ground that can move, it just has to be configured. The more logical question is why would you need an elevator on a mobile platform? The structure height limit on the rafts and saddles is pretty low, so you wouldn't be able to go more than 5 or so walls high anyway, which kind of eliminates the need for an elevator :\

An elevator down from a Brontosaurus, an elevator to lift dinos out of the water onto the top of raised boats, etc.

You can use a ladder to get down from a bronto, cheaper, easier and faster. For raised boats, okay, I could see that, but a ramp would do just as well and be cheaper to build.

Ramps are ugly and can be combersome. Plus, if you want to store a terrestrial dino like an Ankylo on a bronto's back, getting it down would be easy, sure, but getting it back up? :/

The elevators can be just as cumbersome because like the ramps they are stationary structures that would hang off the side of the bronto. The only benefit the elevators would have over a ramp for a bronto saddle would be the fact that the elevator would be more compact since it is vertical rather than diagonal. However the elevator requires power on each and every section and would take up a lot of the structure limit on the saddle, so you wouldn't have much of a base left unless you were on a private server with an increased build limit.

Eh, I wouldn't bother with a full base anyways. :/

If I could spawn them in, I would test to see the number of structures required.

Park under a cliff and walk the anky off and onto the bronto
Yeah but doing that every single time is a pain in the ass. Believe me, I've done that plenty of times.

You can. Just start up a single player session and use the command codes. You could get it done in an hour or less probably. Then once you have figured out how you want the build to work after spawning in then you build it in game using legit methods. It's how I test all my builds whenever new stuff comes out.

Or build a docking port. If you're transporting the anklyo to, say, a mining site, just build another docking port near there.

Honestly, I can't find the IDs for the newer items anywhere. I tried to guess it... but nope. Either it's a bug, or they just can't be spawned in. (This has been since the scuba pants)

Using cliff faces is annoying and not always an option. Transporting land-bound dinosaurs up to the top of a bronto saddle would actually be decently feasible this way. The question wasn't, "Why does this make sense." it was, "Why can't we do this? " If it's an engine limitation I understand, but it seriously seems that we 'ought to be able to do this otherwise.

Found a way to spawn them in, and tested.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. 2/3rds of my set up was electrical cords, unless I did something wrong....

You got them to work? Do tell, the game won't let me place them on saddle platforms :/

Even if it means carting around a loading bronto, and then a normal platform Bronto, I'd do it, totally worth it to not have Anks/Doeds wandering around at ground level getting stuck on every. Single. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Tree.

I didn't place them on the saddle, but yeah.... It'll be useful for loading docks.
