Making it so u only lose 1 bolt per destroyed structure.
Tested it. Bolts break every other shot. Of the 30 I tested with at the start, I only got 12 back.
your so called logical solutions would do absolutely nothing to prevent offline raids. things like no damage to turrets and plant x or reduced range do.
a pvo freak would just laugh at longer reload times, so it would take him a few minutes longer to totally destroy your base while you are sleeping... but having to actually remove defences first makes a difference.
May the squeakiest wheel prevail.
This.
It's a ballista not a crossbow, between it and a catapult they were meant to destroy structures, pvo or not this game is becoming 0 strategy and a mindless headbang, fun draining, whine fest. Now the ballista is like every other weapon. Mind as well make it lighter and be able to carry on your shoulder,oh but wait,we already have a crossbow.....
Nerfs to structure damage were in the right intention.
The problem is that time (# of shots) and cost (# of materials) aren't well tuned yet.
Ballista bolts *should* take metal. But the current amount of metal per stone wall is too high, considering the cost difference of acquiring stone and metal.
Currently with PvO you cant even retaliate usually because you either have no idea who raided and well they kill every dino and take everything. theres no real PvP in that scenario and until actual PvP is more rewarding than PvO this cycle will never end
Set this down for primitive as I can see where it is really bad but the primitive players need to understand there will be more seige weapons. You can't have a base that is industructable, play PvE if thats the case.
On the official server we play on we FINALLY had the tools at the right price to remove old abandonded and spam stone structures at fair costs and time involved. Even after the first nerf it was still feasible to do it this way.
The fact we could pickup the bolt made it worth every moment that a tribe mate was hit trying to get the last bolt. I have to say it did get to big a nerf when a simple server option would suiffice but I suppose there is always a group of players who feel they should beable to have something no one can touch.
Survival PvP..... Aggressive PvP...says on the website :(
there should be 2 versions of this ballista one for primative 2nd for rest of us
