Electrical Issues
So I'm trying to hook the electricity up and I just do not understand it. I've set up the generator, I've got the wire coming out from it vertically because for some asinine reason, it otherwise wants to be in the foundation of my house. I can hook wires up and put my box in and connect it to a lamp and turn the thing on, yet it still says it's unpowered. I am so frustrated with it I don't know what to do. I can't adjust the lengths and they all want to go into the floor or something. Do the inclined ones not work?

Is there gas in the generator?
Are all the wires showing they are powered (yellow rather than black)?
Do you have sufficient outlets, and are they in range?

They've all worked fine for me. Can you put up a screenshot of your specific issue?

Also, just to cover all bases, is there gasoline in the generator and is the generator turned on?

When you build, turn the genny on. Properly connected will be yellow. I'd certainly like corrective angles or at least the genny to snap to the foundation properly. Would solve a lot of issues.

For mine, I have a habit of doing my electrical at the same time as I build my permanent (stone or metal) base. Wiring first, down low, then foundations over it. Keeps it clean and more.... realistic imho.

something tells me theres no outlets attached to the wires

OP said he added a box so I'm assuming he has.

I added the outlets. They connect to things and looked yellow but aren't powering things then connected to the outlet boxes. I'm not sure if there is something with the wires not connecting or if they refuse to be powered if they pass through anything or touch near something else in the base. I might have to remove the foundations and try wiring it fully. Dx

if it aint a missing outlet, i have a feeling the vertical wire "coming out of" the generator is actually not correctly snapped to the genny.

Some things like lights need to be turned on thru the actual light.

try laying a single horizontal wire snapped to the generator, and stick an outlet on that, see if it works

If it's yellow it's powered, the outlet should be flashing and a line should appear between outlet and light.

also outlet range is about 5 foundations so i doesn't have to be that close to the light

the status "unpowered" will only change to powered, when you turn on the generator (with gasoline inside of course).

then you still need to turn on each light/turret individually, or use pincodes for a master switch, but this is also bugged and might not work for a bigger number of lights/turrets.

oh, and be sure to only try to connect your electrical stuff to ONE cable grid! if you have 2 seperate grids, and you got outlets on both grids in range of the same electrical device, there will be the slim black cables to both outlets, but the device is only linked to one. so powering the wrong generator wouldn´t power the device, even if it looks like everything is connected properly.

so if you got outlets left in your foundations, that are no longer powered, those can block nearby devices and prevent you from connecting to the powered ones! so check, if there are abundoned outlets somewhere in your floor and either power them or demolish them, which may require you to also demolish the foundations first.
