You don't have to aim. You don't need skill. You just need lucky positioning when a drop or super-loot crate comes down. It is a 1 hit kill on everything. Take it out of the game. I have been killed by this ♥♥♥♥ 3 times even when I see and hit the person first....

@ the OP - I actually watch SoTF streams quite a bit and TBH I have seen a rocket launcher win a match once out of the 30+ times i have watched. I see rifle and dimo wins much more often. Rocket launcher is a game changer of a weapon but i personally dont see it as a problem overall. Someone with 5 dimos ---- now theres a threat.

I saw the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gaping to spew their ♥♥♥♥ on me a mile away on this one. It needs to at least take 2 hits to kill. It is like explosives in all games. It takes no skill. AoE 1 hit kill is not balanced no matter what you think. I have won SotF games with and without the Rocket Launcher, but there is no disputing that they are unbalanced vs every other tool in the game, so be a ♥♥♥♥ if you want that is your choice, but the fact remains that they are not balanced at all and need to be changed. There is literally no way to get away from a rocket launcher round.. so even if I sneak up on someone and shoot them they are likely going to kill me by guessing where I am and shooting their rocket launcer blindly. I don't think the world owes me anything. I want the game to be balanced.. I think that is fair. I can't imagine why that is so outlandish to you. They are not balanced.

You're missing a lot of key points. First of all, everybody will have a different amount of HP and armour on. You can only balance a weapon to one parametre: a rocket that 2-shots a 100 HP naked guy will do absolutely nothing aginst dinosaurs/structures/most players. A rocket that 2-shots a top tier warboy in full Flak will instagib most mid level players.

You're better off just accepting things as they are. Not only will you be less likely to die of nerdrage-induced angina, but you'll also have more fun. Also, you may want to invest some points in HP and get yourself some flak gear.

Last time I saw a rocket launcher get used in SOTF a tribemate killed 3 of our raptors and left the other guy's dino standing. Not too OP for me. Also, survey the area a bit before you rush into a drop. I have personally never gotten a kill nor seen anyone get a player kill with one.

I do play health builds, and I do make armour. So you are the one being ignorant and assuming because I have spotted imbalance that I have placed myself in a position to lose. As I said before I have won a few games now, but there is absolutely no denying for any sensible person that the RL is OP. So again, feel free to be a jerk and assume the rest of the world is less intelligent than you. As much fun as it is to have the RL and one hit everything in your path, it is 100x less fun for everyone else because that isn't balanced. I saw someone kill the top 10 people in 1 hit each because he had a rocket launcher. Absolutely ridiculous. Cast aspersions as you will. They are lost on me. I only want to see balance and fun be had.

Again the assumption that everyone else is retarded... I am talking about incidents where I have spotted someone, tracked them, headshot them with a crossbow, and then died in one hit because they managed to guess where the shot came from and caught me in the AoE of the rocket....

No. You can shoot rockets out of the air, I can shoot rockets out of the air, OP can only complain and beg the devs to change the rules to compensate for his lack of FPS skill and apparently rubbish Crossbow-Fu.

And besides, using a Crossbow in combat against well-armoured players is a terrible, terrible idea. It's a one-shot weapon with a ridiculously slow reload time: unless you can kill them in one shot(and you won't) you're as good as dead. Rocket launcher or not.

Actually, they don't one shot you if you upgrade your health some and get okay armor.
Also getting the launcher and the bullets isn't exactly easy or reliable.
I'd say they need to focus on reballancing the rifle so it doesn't break in 10 shots (at least make it 20 or something more than a kill or two), and nerfing the dimorphs by increasing taming time perhaps.
But yeah don't let them close distance on you with the rocket so you can see their shots and avoid them easily :u
