UDP Config help

Hey would greatly appreciate if someone could clarify where I need to put the "?bRawSockets" command in my GameUserSettings.ini file. I'm assuming it goes under [ServerSettings] but I just want to be sure. Thanks for any help!

I interpreted that one as a Command Line only command, however I could be wrong.

From what I've been reading it seems that either bRawSockets=true under the [ServerSettings] section in the GameUSerSettings.ini or placing "bRawSockets" in the commandline for the .exe will do the trick. Thanks for the help everyone!

It is a commandline option ?bRawSockets added as an option to the starting map (ex: theisland?listen?bRawSockets) .

Did it and it doesnt connect, so i guess host havoc didnt open the ports 7777,7778...

Yeah. Same. I guess we have to wait til host havoc opens them.

Yeah I can't even use command line options on my server because my host doesn't allow them, they set 2 up one to run Survival of the Fitest and one to run a "normal" game.

Is there a way to specify the raw socket port? Ark currently uses 7778 because 7777 is already in use by another game and I want it to use 7778 and 7779.

Are you with Host Havoc or someone else? On Host Havoc you put it in on the Map line under their commandline modder thing. I do it, but i just get connection timed out, but server is running. So guessing ports aren't open on host havoc.

My host doesn't give me access to the command line either (they say its coming in a future update) but they were happy to add "?bRawSockets" to it for me and I was able to verify it's working as intended just looking my network traffic when I connect to the server now its all UDP packets flowing. Not sure who your host is but shoot your support guys an email and I'd bet they will do it for you.

I'm on east coast and getting a 20ms ping to my Windows server hosted in Dallas. It's just me on the server atm tho so i expect that to go up a little if it filled up
