A way to stop certain Dinos spawning?

I have been searching and am wondering if there is a way to prevent certain dinos from spawning. like if i want to turn off the ants how would i do that.

the only thing i can thing of is the command that destroys all of one species, and just enter it periodically in the console to keep them killed

as for stopping them entirely, i don't know how to do that =( sorry

You can replace ants with another dino type though configuration. Or you can deactivate them altogether. Take a look at the stickies in the hosting section of the ark forums for details.

Woah, great. This means we could have servers that only let creatures from the Cretaceous spawn. Which would make for a rather interesting game. No Mammals, none of the insects, no Dodos, Argentavis, Carbonemys and Titanboa, but funny enough, still the Beelzebufo. The Dinos missing on land would be the Dilophosaur, the Sarcosuchus, Dimorphodon and the Steganosaur. Unless you'd go only "Late Cretaceous" you'd still get the Utah-Raptor. The water would be rather more difficult, with only the Plesiosaur and the Mosasaur.

does this work in the cheat menu, or where you turn up gamma in singleplayer

No, you have to do it in the games ini file. Just YouTube how to access it. It would be much easier and faster than trying to explain here.

It can be done in both single player and on a server. The only difference is where the ini file is. For single player it's in your ark folder on your computer.

i know this is necroposting but can i use these command lines to say prevent the taming of some mobs that were retooled in the no untameables? because i see one of the commandline is prevent tame. i want the other untameables to be tamable but not the reaper queen or nameless.
Question two. say i want a dino to spawn on one server only in my cluster, i know i need the mod on all servers to that way it works but can i use the one line to prevent it from spawning on all other maps but the one i intend it too.
