Raft structure limit?

Can't believe no one has posted this info yet. We know Bronto saddles have a 50 Strucutre limit but what about rafts? Also Rafts are alot smaller so I assume about a 35 Structure limit?

I got a limit of 50 on the raft, too. I would post a picture of mine, if I knew how... Damn, if there wasn't a limit I would make a beast out of the raft :-D

I fit 68 pieces on my raft before i hit the structure limit. I used a pillar in the center and built out a full 3 x 3 metal structure around the raft (so completely enclosed in metal), one corner of the raft is closed up by a vault. I managed to fit a smithy, fab, generator with one cable and one outlet, 4 forges, 3 mortar and pestles, a fridge, a grill, and a bed inside, with two turrets on top.

Awesome. Sounds like my future setup :P I plan to have another raft with nothing but a simple wall barrier acting as a transport for my large dinos.

Heres what I believe is happening with the raft, as to why different people are getting different structure limits:

I decided that I was going to build my structure with thatch, so as to get the design correct, and then put down stone once I had it right. Once I hit structure limit with the thatch, I tried to go back and build over. No dice. This made sense though, so I destroyed a 1 thatch, so that I would be one below the limit, and then tried to build over the rest. It worked once, then I hit limit again.

It appears that if you build over something, the raft counts the original structure as well as the structure that was built over it. Get your design right the first time, and I believe the limit I had was 70.

The Raft is alot smaller and alot cheaper than the Bronto saddle. Why can we build more on the raft? Doesn't make sense.

I reckon they should make Rafts 50, Bronto Saddles 70, and Disable Metal Structures.

I think the more appropriate solution would be to rid structure limit altogether and simply have weight allowances. You could have for the boat a maximum weight which stops it from being able to move, and an excess weight which makes it sink.

Agreed, if I have a raft with a structure on it made out of thatch. it makes no sence that someone else can come over with the same design in stone and for it to be counted as the same weight. but I guess this isn't exactly a game that always applies to the laws of physics.

Beast Raft...I love the sound of your raft. I love that we can build emmensly on them too.

I upped the limit on my server to 3.75. You can put about 200 structures on all platforms.

take a screenshot with f12. Then upload it to your steam cloud and make sure it's "public". Then on the main page with all of your uploaded screenshots, right click on the thumbnail of the picture you want to show and select "copy link address" then post that link here.
