Raft Information!
I noticed there isn't a lot of info yet on rafts. Here's what I've learned about the basic raft (without anything built on it).

- They are ~85 weight each*.

- They move much faster than megalodons.

- They can carry dinosaurs WITHOUT them sliding off at all.

- The dinosaurs on top of the raft do not count towards its total weight.

- It's slower than a flyer, but it's a very fast and effective mode of water transport.

- They can escape being partially grounded.

I just moved a carno and two raptors from my old base near green beacon to my new base at the south east island. There was some minor visual rubberbanding, but the dinosaurs would snap back to their position. They didn't slide at all. They were also loaded down with materials.

Hope this helps some people out.

I have found that although dinos don't appear to increase the weight (is the weight meter broken?), too many heavy ones will sink the raft. I was able to transport a stego no problem, but a stego + phiomia seemed to work at first and then randomly sunk on me (the raft doesn't break, just lowers in the water and won't move). I also tried a trike + parasaur and that was a no go as well. Anybody else having a similar experience?

I was able to do 8 dilos + 1 raptor, which I was pretty happy about. For me, the raft is a godsend - I was in the process of figuring out how I was going to transport two stegos halfway across the map without losing my mind...this does it so much faster than walking.

This latest update fixes (hopefully) submerging rafts.

I've lost 2 rafts so far, the third is going well I've got a dino gate and its going to be a galleon. On my first raft, i had 2 trikes, 1 ankylo, 1 rapter, 1 mammoth and 1 carno.. my ptera fell off on the way home and sank like a rock to the bottom of the ocean. Saved him but that was bad.
Rafts have a maximum number of structures they can have. I.e. only so many things attatched. May be true for bronto too, though i havent gotten that far.

Ill give you a number in a sec.

Edit: Rough estimate came up with 62 walls/cielings/pillars total max. May have miscounted - its possible its 64 or something.

Number of structures doesnt seem to affect speed. (Or weight, actually).

Also, structure attatched can pass through the ground, if they are under the raft.

You could. You can build about a 4x5 platform on top of one, supported by pillars, with a ramp along the egde for access. Would be a bit of a balancing act, but you could.

208.0 or 208.1? I had the sinking raft issue in 208.0. This evening, it was reproducible, but I'll try again in the morning.

Brontos have a structure limit of 50, freakin' 50..... you can't build anything nice with only 50...

My dinos are still falling through the bottom and through the wall sides :(

I've managed to get a raptor to stay on it by wedging it behind the sail. But I want to be able to build an Ark lol

To clarify, the raft I tested was unmodified (nothing built on it) and it was in non-dedicated/local (with only me).

they are not faster than a shark and my birds constantly falls off to the buttom of the ocean thru the walls...

Do you know what happens if you lose connection while on one? Would you just pass out on the raft, or fall through it? My husband is sort of nervous about riding one while playing the server we host during thunderstorms.
