So yeah...they really ought to make them a little more powerful. Or make it a configurable option.
I tried the assault rifle during a cave run I did by myself and it couldn't even take care of the bats without using several shots, while the bow or sniper could do it in one or two depending on level of the creature.
If you find a high quality compound bow in a drop use it as an ascendant I cheated in to test was one shotting level 70 trikes on my world using metal arrows.
Primitive pistol VS fabricated? 480 VS 455? Try using a simple pistol against a maneuveuring opponent and you`ll get the idea why faster shot/low damage AR or FB are there in the game.
Thanks:) I didn’t know the distinction between them because my government doesn’t think people have the right to buy guns for personal use so my weapons knowledge is fairly limited:)
But yes, if you want damage for resources, use the Longneck. If you want fast hitting damage that is kind of costly, go for the simple.
The Assault rifle only does like 29 damage, but shoots 8 rounds per second.
It's a faily common misconception that get on my nerves sometimes. :) Like the ONE thing I would change about Ark is change "Clip: X" to "Mag: X".
