You probably have something corrupted so verifying files is probably the first thing to try if you haven't already. (make take hours). If you haven't tried a brand new game, I suggest to test that as well. If the mods don't crash the new game, it's your saved game that is corrupted. (bad news: tough to fix).
If it doesn't' work on a new save, it's mostly likely corrupted mod files. Exit steam and proceed to delete all the folders (only the folders) in your mods directory (ARK\ShooterGame\Content\Mods). When you restart steam, it will download all those missing folders fresh. Wait for that to complete (could be a while). When that's done, start the game and look in the lower right to see when it finishes installing those mods. Don't start a game until that completes installing the mods. Depending on the size/quantity of mods subscribed, it can take a while.
If all else fails, uninstall the game and then go delete the entire shootergame directory to ensure nothing that is corrupted survives. Open steam, reinstall the game and mods and see if that fixed the problem BEFORE trying replace the saved game directory with your back up copy you created above.
Edit: Something I forgot to mention. Update your graphics driver!
