Now I'm hoping I'm just doing something wrong here that I trip into and everything miraculously fixes itself, cause it really is fun otherwise lol. If you have a server that has that cross-play available I'm sure it'll be a lot more fun ;) Mine's only the one server.
The Eden biome is super safe though and makes for a fun base building time, you can breed in peace without a huge fence and the aberration (It's not.. but I always forget what it's actually called lol) biome is interesting and bioluminescent with more danger to it and the space area definitely had me on the edge of my seat til I got used to it, made for some very nice laughs!
Definitely worth playing, just better to go with an already established character!
You still learn new things btw.
It's all one big map, but with narrow accesses between the two halves. It's basically two giant rings. One ring is a sort of paradise zone, the other ring has been corrupted by something, and everything is a mutated nightmare. There are access points that lead through the hull of the rings, and then to bridges between the two rings.
In between the two rings is a narrow space zone full of asteroids, but you can breath and move around normally in it. Basically you move like you're swimming, but can breath normally (no oxygen loss). Even land animals can swim through it. Every in game day, at midnight, the ship warps to a new location and the resources available in the space zone change. There's more resources then you ever mine in a single day there. It's insane. The crew of the ship locked the ship into an endless loop of warps between seven different planets (to keep it from reaching it's destination).
Still has genesis style missions, but they're far less annoying then the genesis 1 missions. And a lot of them are more solo friendly. I have a huge main breeding base in my genesis 2 map, just because I can buy resources with hexagons. I can knockout an alpha level mission in 5 minutes, get 30000 hexagons, and buy stacks of resources without having to go farm them.
