Unlock Tek engrams on Gen 2?

So we started again on some Gen 2 server, and are now struggling on how to unlock Tek engrams. At first we thought we could buy them at that trader, but that are only normal engram points. We keep getting tek gear out of drops that we simply cannot use as we miss the corresponding tek engrams.

There seem to be no (direct) bosses on gen 2, so how do you unlock Tek Engrams there?

Gen 2 is made as the final map that means if you wanna have tek you must play first all other maps.

if you have all dlcs and this server is your own i would recommend make all exp multiplyer to 0 and defeat all bosses on all DLC Maps with admin commands

Normal TEK grams have to be unlocked by defeating the bosses on other maps, with the same character. And come back to Gen2. So usually people use the same character that they have been using through all the maps. There are some few exceptions such as the new TEK bow and the TEK hoversail. Though these are above the normal level cap, so unlocking these requires the boss fight too. Sorry if the information was wrong, but this is the only way I could come up with.
