False. t.max fps <number> limits the framerate.
Kay, let me rephrase then "Ark is yet another game that doesn't have any INTUITIVE/PERMANENT way to limit the frame rate." ;) Obscure console commands you have to enter every time you launch the game is hardly ideal.
Honestly, this game has almost no optimization to keep it from being a resource hog.
I will write it here once i get home.
I would think it would. If you're running at, say, 60fps capped vs 300fps uncapped, that's putting way less stress on your GPU and CPU.
People on here say the launch commands no longer work although I know for a fact the turn off events one works because I still use it.
I had extreme gpu usage as well, looked up couple launch options and i went with 2070 rtx from 95% usage to 45%, and the game looks almost the same, perfect for me
Also i forgot to mention that i use msi afterburner to lower my gpu power even more and it all works great.
Launch options i am using: -sm4 -d3d10 -high -nomansky -full -noaafonts -PREFERREDPROCESSOR 4
Edit: So I have been flying around gen2 with everything maxxed out at 90fps for 30min and my cpu has never gone past 70. That is really high for my cpu but still not worrying. My gpu never went past 63. I think its something with your system mate. I am leaning towards your cpu cooler.
