Solo Rockwell aberration?
Ok so everything I’m doing is in singleplayer, with difficulty set to one and max difficulty checked.

I’ve bred an army of megalos with ~850% dmg and ~30k health with ~50 armor saddles and I’m riding on a rock drake with an ascendant saddle firing a base tek rifle.

People say to use a shotgun, but after failing alpha with a tek rifle I tried an ascendant shotgun and it was terrible.

How am I supposed to fight this guy? Right now I’m barely able to fight gamma while using the refillstats command to heal my rock drake which would have died many times over if I hadn’t. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Must be doing something wrong.
You can even do this boss on foot with no dinos at all.

Shotgun does the most damage and damage drop off isnt a thing with ark shotguns so they always do a lot of damage even at a large range.

I used a 300% dmg fabricated shotgun and I assumed that it wouldn’t work if I was too far away from the tentacles, but I guess that’s not the case? I’m trying to get a rock drake right now that will have most of its points invested into hp

yes it's possible to fight rockwell with no dinos with ghilli and cactus broth, but for my testing only on gamma. after that the dino spawn is too intense and the cactus broth wont protectt against most aggro. solo its harder on beta and alpha, but make sure to have an (ore better two) assault rifle to shoot the globes following you. they will hit you and your rock drake and the further they travel (they get more and more red) the more damage they will deal. so keep distance, clear the shots. when you are still struggling farm the $%%&&/)§ out of the loot crates from the surfce to get a really good blueprint for a shot gun. reskill with broth and pump everything in crafting skill to get the most powerfull shotgun you can get.
another stratergy could be you send about 10 megalos on rockwell (your stats look really nice one them, because more armor on saddle isn't really this helpfull in this fight) and take the other ones with you and try to get a good stego. since the TLC they have 50% dmg reduction and with a good saddle it further decreses and the big advantage it you can feed it cakes. the downside is the speed, but with a less powerfull shotty you still have too shoot and travel more. could be an alternative route if everything is failing.
goold luck mate!!

I recommend to tame a few reaper king, 2-3 are enough. With enough health they will fight all day against all the spawns. They don't need to kill them, but you have enough space and time to fully focus on rockwell, his tentacles and orbs.
Additional megalos, spinos and so on are handy but on alpha they might die.
As weapon i can also fully recommend fab. shotgun. I've done alpha with a ~200% damage one.

How many shots did it take to kill an alpha tentacle with that shotgun? Or did you do beta/gamma?

Wear some ghillie and eat some cactus broth to reduce your aggro range, use a pump action shot gun, bring more than one, and when you get the tentacles down, then unload each shotgun till tentacles are back up, rinse and repeat.

Many ways to do it. Personally I don't use a shotgun. I split my megalo army into 2. Group 1 I immediately send to stand next to the boss. Group 2 I whistle around the room, ordering them to kill each tenticle while I jump around on the drake avoiding stuff while my army clears everything. Cleared Alpha this way, playing Solo on MP server, not singleplayer settings. Megalo's had about 20 mutations in them so nothing insane.

The reason why I dont use a shotgun is because tentacles take quite a few hits on alpha and once the reapers come out in the alpha fight there is a lot of stuff to dodge otherwise you and your drake are dead leaving little time to focus on tentacles, ordering your army to kill tentacles is set and forget while you avoid standing in stuff.

sounds good. guess i will try this one also. farming boomstick BPs isn't that much fun. Even with a 755% pump action shotgun it takes around 7 to 8 shots (one full magazin + extra) per tantacle with difficulty 5.

i once tried 1 gigantopithecus with an ascendaded flak helmet and a bulb dog on it's shoulder to distract enemies. I don't recommend it ^^

well due to Singleplayer Settings dino's get incredible boni when leveling health and damage, so i would recommend Cobretti's approach.
FunFact for SP and MP difference: On the same test dino i got per point in melee an extra of 4% on MP settings. With SP settings the per point increase was a whopping 13%.
