That makes more sense, did you install it from Epic first or something?
Never had that issue, so got nothing more than google...
Hopefully someone has had the issue though.

This is probably because you have the epic games client set to auto-start every time your computer starts up. Disable that in the settings for epic games launcher and close it so it's not running then this shouldn't happen. There's no need to have that running while also running steam.

The problem is with the Steam client, for some reason it borks out randomly if you have it on EGS and Steam and attempts to launch using the EGS launcher.

The workaround is to launch Ark using the Ark steam launcher in the Ark folder.

Steamapps->common->ARK->Shootergame->Binaries->Win64: Shootergame.exe

I have a desktop shortcut leading directly to Ark and it opens Epic Games when steam is closed. I was hoping to find a way to edit the shortcut and exe to use steam because that's where I got Ark.
