Daily Updates???
Every time I crank up Steam, I see ASE in the queue for another update. I mean, come on, people! It's like 14 days and 14 updates.

Or, am I getting the same update everyday and something is not working?

There have been multiple map/meshing patches.

Also each mod you subscribe to could update something which will show up as an update for Ark.

Updates are swiftly downloaded so what's the problem? Are you using Morse Code or Carrier Pigeons to receive the data?

no, it's not, ark updates are always buggy and slow, hence why people make these posts, you must be new or something if you didn't know, ark's size and download speed are a meme

i got very good internet and a decent PC yet ark always seems to take a ♥♥♥♥ when an update comes out, same for a lot of people, yeah, people, there are other people in the world other than yourself, weird right?

Seems to be a very small portion of the total ark player base who has trouble which is evidence of user end issues and not developer/game issues.

Well not really... they may pass through the same problematic nodes
Causing spikes.
I get slowdowns while downloading Ark that I dont get with other steam games not due to PC or my provider.

Many people probably did what I did and quit playing, I recently came back for sp and lan with friends.

Never had a problem downloading or installing ark nor any other steam game on my PC. My laptop is a different story, it uses win10 instead of win7 and has a much slower drive. It hangs up downloading and installing constantly on many different games. Desktop was built in 2012, laptop bought in 2016.

It's a user end issue.

I don't have a problem with the D/L speed, just the frequency of updates. I thought maybe there was a glitch, where the same couple of updates were trying to install. After all, how many other Steam games are updating every day?

Speak of the Devil! There's another update today! YAY!

Download speeds with steam aren't usualy the issue.... the way it allocates space pre-download and then install/verifies After the download are pretty hit and miss.

It would appear to me that Wildcard are using an AGILE methodology. Essentially a production line of software changes. They will pump out what they have when they have it rather than hoarding changes for a monthly bundle.

Smaller, rapid changes are also somewhat easier to troubleshoot if ♥♥♥♥ goes wrong. As opposed to a massive monthly bundle.

Well.... they did say previously that they would mpve to once a week patches... wich they did for a while....

But essential updates would always get pushed.... like map fixes.

These updates are ridiculous. I don't get to game very often and when I do, waiting over an hour for Ark to update every time I want to play is beyond irritating. Yeah, I get it, they're fixing bugs, but there has to be a better way to install a "138MB" update than to rewrite >200GB of game data...

You know you can play ark without updating right? Start steam, pause download, go into ark files and launch with shootergame.exe. If your play time is as limited as you say, single player is your best bet because of server tame and structure timers. You can update in your off time, it only takes two seconds to start the update and let it run while you do other things.
