[Help] Dedicated Server + External IP Change
Hello,

I host an Ark server via Ark Server Manager on my personal dedicated server.
Last night I had an internet outage which forced me to power-cycle my router and modem.

Network is back up now but my external IP changed due to the modem reboot. This has updated in ASM via the "My Public IP" refresh button and is now displaying the new external IP.

The problem is that my server is not being shown on arkservers.net/. It shows the server, under the old IP, as "Offline".

I have confirmed that I can connect to the server from my personal computer, which is on the same network. I have confirmed that others cannot see the server while in Ark's server browser, nor can I see it while in-game (except via the LAN connection as noted).

I have:
-Removed and re-added all port-forwarding rules on my router (though they all referenced the internal IP of the server anyway, which didn't change) and confirmed the Windows firewall is still offline.
-Rebooted the server PC.
-Power-cycled modem and router (same "new" external IP remains).
-Disabled router firewall.
-Expanded open ports (7777-7778/27015-27016).
-Changed Ark Server Manger Server and Query ports (from 7777 to 7778 and from 27015 to 27016).
-Confirmed that all ports are open with a port-scanner.
-Tried to manipulate the MultiHost setting (with no luck, always defaults back to local IP).

I have posted on Reddit and the Ark Server Manger site with no luck so far.

Please help!

Thanks,

Tom

You could just give folks a shortcut to connect to it directly. Create a shortcut and put this in there:

steam://connect/<your IP address>

(just a temporary work-around)

Go into your server config. The game user ini one and see if multi home has the old IP. You can either change it to the new ip or delete it. It worked for me once. Worth a shot.

Other options to make another server and just move the save folder over. Make sure you install the server files through the update command then close ASM and move the save folder. Then restart ASM and see if people can connect again.

You could also set up a no-ip account and do a dynamic DNS. Which would be something like SGServer.noip.me or something like that.

Alright. No luck:

-All changes to the MultiHost result in failure (leaving blank/setting as internal ip/setting as external ip).
-Steam connect shortcut results in "Unable to query server info for invite" error.
-Re-ran steamCMD install (to new folder location) and setup a new server via batch file. Still not showing in server list and still unable to connect.

This is all from an outside-network. All connections via LAN option in ARK work fine.

I am stumped. Something with the new external is causing this I believe.

Any other suggestions?

This may be important...:

Any ideas?

Hey! I have the same problem, how did you solve it?

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
