Why can't I paint?
I'm playing single player. I've never tried to paint before but I've seen it done in videos. I have dyes in my inventory. I have my paint brush equipped. I shook my brush at one of my pets and it pulled up the painting menu but I can't do anything else. I tried lmb and shift+lmb (I'm assuming that stands for left mouse button) but nothing happens. I tried clicking on the different dyes and the paintbrush but nothing seems to work. I also tried on inanimate objects with the same results. Also hold left-click and move to rotate my pets doesn't work either but it does on inanimate objects. With inanimate objects I can see the different zones but they are grayed out.

Edit: I figured out that I had to drop the paint onto the brush first, but I still can't rotate my pets.

Hello Ghoul Slayer, looks like you tried everything except dragging the dye onto your paintbrush first.

Have you dragged the paint to the brush??

once u have you will get that paint colour on a line on the right the more you use the more it goes down so as long as u remember to keep dropping paint on it then all good.

Have you tried left-click or right-click on your pets image and dragging it around?

Right+drag moves it left and right but doesn't rotate it. Scroll zooms in and out. Left-click + drag doesn't move it at all but it does paint (pets). On inanimate objects left-click + drag rotates the item but it doesn't paint.

Does right-click not rotate it up and down then? Can you check whether you can rotate other paintable objects up and down?

I figured out how to do inanimate objects while they are in my inventory but is it possible to paint a workbench or forge after you've placed them? How about walls?

yes you can paint them once you've placed them.

So far I can't rotate my pets so I can only paint one side. I can rotate inanimate objects but I can't paint them once they are placed. Left-click only half works and the opposite halves work pets vs. inanimate objects.

With the inanimate objects how are you trying to paint it? There are sections on the left like 1 to 6 right?

I believe, if I recall correctly, it's shift or ctrl + right click to rotate. I'm not sure.

The one 1 to 6 on inanimate objects is grayed out. I can't use it.
