What is it?

An un-official tool for builders tired of cut / pasting commands into the console.
Commander holds an up to date list of entities and dinos that you can spawn with a simple 'double-click'. And to compliment the already 2000+ vanilla items available in the game are another 10000+ items from popular mods!

FAQ

Is this a mod? Do I need to subscribe?
Commander is actually software you install and run beside ARK:Survival Evolved, it's a companion app that talks to ARK via the game console.

Talks to ARK, how?
Commander targets the ARK window by it's internal Windows handle (window name), this allows Commander to raise the console and push strings to the game window.

What about BattlEye?
The software does not interfere with memory or the ShooterGame.exe, the method employed is called .Net InputSimulator and a quick Google will explain the technical details.

Where did my custom commands and bookmarks go?
Commander stores its data in "My Documents/SparcMX Commander Data"..

You will need to copy 2 files from the backup:
- CustomCommands.csv
- MapBookmarks.xlsx
Return the 2 files back to the 'SparcMX Commander Data' folder, run Commander and it will refresh all missing files preserving your commands and bookmarks.

Can I put my own Mods into Commander?
At this stage Mod content is vetted by a small team of dedicated Ark enthusiasts, most requests are taken in the official SparcMX Guilded Community.

Quickstart Tips

Ark must be running in "Fullscreen-Windowed" mode or "Windowed", currently Fullscreen does not work (DirectX issue)


The default key to unhide Commander is ALT You can change this in 'Config'.


Make sure Commanders communication mode is set to "InputSIM" (found in 'Config' window)


Go into 'Config' and set your Admin Password for your local server or online server, leave blank for Single Player


Before you do anything, once your in-game click "Enable Cheats", then "Infinite Stats" and finally "God Mode". If Commander is talking to Ark, you will see the console appear when Commander drops down (Overlay Mode)
If your using Commander in windowed mode, you need to raise the Ark console first, then select your item from Commander (important!)


I strongly recommend practicing with Commander in Singleplayer or Local Multiplayer before going online as an admin. Accidentally broadcasting your password globally is not a desirable thing to do, if this bothers you I suggest manually typing the password command as an alternative.


Double Left-Click gives 1 item, Double Right-Click gives a set Qty (capped by stack size)


Quality generation is random but can be narrowed down by the quality buttons and slider


Finger Cannon is used by pressing the middle mouse button to activate the selected command. A handy tool for removing lots of foundations, pillars etc but do be careful as it's "Long Range" and effective.


Item Loadouts: It's the 10 buttons you see next to the QuickShot boxes.
You can now store 10 x 10 item loadouts and give them descriptions, this will eventually become unlimited, consider this feature a trial to bigger things :)


Dragging entities over a Quickshot F-Key binds that item, quantity and quality to F1, F2 etc.. Hitting those Function keys while Commander is hidden will place the items into a slot of the same number. It will override the current contents of the slot, I use these a lot personally.
You can disable the Quickshot F-Keys in 'Config'


Custom commands can also be bound to keyboard shortcuts and fired by holding CTRL + Key. (you don't need to hold CTRL when initially binding the key)


To add Mods into Commander, select the "HiVE" tab and install from there.
This does not install the mod to ARK

There's a few hardcoded settings that I'll move to a config form so you can set your server password. I also need to create an installer and updater to keep the entity database up to date, should be ready in a day or two.

Nice; an mod for ark that makes something like minecraft's creative mode would also be really nice for solo play if you're looking for more stuff to code. It would just remove encumbering and make max weight like 1million, have one of every item in your inventory always, and using the items doesn't subtract the number of that item that you have.
So it gives you 1 of each item, using an item doesn't remove it from your inventory so you can just keep using it, and having all those items doesn't encumber you. Would certainly help a lot for people wanting to spawn things to build giant fancy structures or just test base designs before building them on an official server.

Your app looks pretty sweet though and I'd love to use it when I want to test building designs on solo.

Im too slow at progression in SP so id like to experiment with things i would never get. So id really like to use this it seems interesting, in Sp everything takes ages because you dont have any help. If you decide to release it to public i will totally use this :) .
