The Arano aka spiders tips/hints and thoughts
First off I enjoy the idea of the spider, spits a web that should slow down run away targets but I don't think this works on other wild animals which makes it pointless on pve. Taming is fairly tricky but not too time consuming if you know what you're doing. They are soft tame or no knock out tames. Which means you have to sneak up on them in order to feed them.

Step 1 for taming: Bring bug spray and lots of it.
Step 2: Bring lots of rotten meat/something for you to eat and drink. Put rotten meat in hotbar 0.
Step 3: Search caves carefully with any mount left in a safe area outside or wherever is safest.
Step 4: Isolate a spider in an area that is usually empty like the front or entrance to the cave but not outside.
Step 5: Spray yourself with bug spray and play a game of hide and seek around a small area to get the spider to lose you.
Step 6: Once you have lost the spider so its not chasing you any longer sneak up on its rear carefully, just close enough that you can feed it.
Step 7: Wait behind it without moving if you can and just keep feeding it really won't take too long if you are careful and watch the bug spray timers and don't move around too much.
Step 8: If you get noticed by said spider run away for a little, around a corner usually works, duck into crouched or C. Sneak away some more and then turn around and find your spider staring at a wall and continue your tame.

Now, some people like myself have experienced the whole random seeming reset on the tame which is bull plop. This however only seems to happen because feeding them raw meat seems to lower the food or meat thing which is their stomach becomming empty. Raw meat CAN be used but likely will result in resets and other problems so you might want to avoid it and just use rotten. Rotten meat takes FAR less time too, its like Kibble for spiders.

Are spiders really worth it in the end? Well...not really in my opinion. They're cool looking and such but as far as I've seen they are weak as hell and slow which means they will require a lot of leveling and tlc to get them to a point where they are more then a bit too squishy.

They also are buggy, pun intended, as their walk is a bit mucked up and they make some odd sounds and jerky motions when eating. For those of us who want at least 1 of everything grabbing a spider isn't a hard prospect.

One thing you might wanna note is that bug spay only lasts about 5 min. Take at least 50 with you and use it as needed.

Oh last thing I almost forgot. When you are taming and your bugspray is about to ware off, you have say 10 or less seconds, back away from your tame, get at least a good bit away, wait for the 0 to hit and spray yourself again. After your covered in bug spray again you can go back to feeding no worries.

Hope this helps.
