Wandering/Neutral/Passive/Agressive
Passive: does basically nothing, living the plant life, dino won't ever ever do more than breathe & eat i suppose :)

Agressive: kills anything that comes close enough, or tries let's say, after that the dino WILL NOT return to the spot he was on.

those are the 2 i think i understand well by now, the following 2 i have a couple of questions:

Wandering: stance to mate, that i know, but what happens if they get attacked here..?
do they fight back..?
also can you lose them that way, like will they go far, will they get lost..?

Neutral: not used this one a lot yet so i don't know much about it, i guess if they get attacked they will fight back, but again same question, will they move from their spot and not return after beiing attacked..?

If wandering, their aggression level (neutral, passive, agressive) will determine if they attack back. Yes they will wander off and get lost.

Neutral, they will attack back but they will not return to their spots. Once they have defended themselves, they will stop moving and stay where they are but they will not walk back to where they were before.

wandering is they just wander around and are on whatever mode you put them on, wander passive, wadner aggressive (do this with a dodo for funny results) and wander neutral
neutral is if they get attacked or a nearby ally gets attacked,t hey will fight back, none of these put them back in their original spot
the easiest way to keep them in a location is have all of them on nuetral and following oen dino (push j while mounted on said dino) then put the dino they are following on passive (somethign beefy, doed is best choice)

having a tanky dino liek the doed on passive, and your big hitters on nuetral, and following the doed
You don't have to let them "wander" literally. You can put them in stables and wall the stall so they cant exit.

If you don't want your "aggressives" to chase off after stuff do this:

1. Build a metal or stone box for a dino to sit in - Doedic preferably.
2. Place the Doedic on Passive.
3. Sit on the doedic and whistle your dino's to follow it.
4. Seal up the box.

Now the Dino's 'anchored' to the Doedic can be set to aggressive or neutral - no matter what happens they will come back to the Doedic. Because the Doedic is in a metal box, it cannot be easily killed thus breaking the anchor.

This prevents people from making your guard dino's chase after someone or something and never returning to the guard area.

ok i think i got it :)

i thought neutral would only attack if THEY were attacked, but will also protect any other of my passive dino's if they are attacked..?

do i got that right..? :D

yes, note the range of which they will attack is limited, of course if a dino they are mate boosted, the range is boosted if someone of that species gets hit

If you do this, don't forget that the server does not save the follow state of a dino (at least the last time I checked), so you'll have to 'reanchor' them every time the server reboots.

I keep my Ape in my home - castle mod - with 100k walls, and things nearby outside anchored to him.

Workshop Building One has two Dimorphodon's with high health and melee.

Workshop Building Two has DoDo's with 500+ health and 1000+ melee. Aggressive.

My property has about 40 Dilo's, Dodo's, and Pteranadons walking around -wander- and range from 500-1000 melee - some are set to neutral, some are anchored, and some are aggressive - DoDo's - for the LOL factor.

You have to keep wandering birds on passive or else they will fly if attacked and after the attack they will "wander" airborne - all over the map - forever.

Kind of funny to be flying along and look down and see a pterandadon swooping on a group of Dilo's and you think "wow i never seen Ptera's fight in the wild", and you get closer and go "oh thats mine". Hahaha.

Hmmmm.................

I almost think thats fixed. Almost. But thank you! I will check for that. The anchor is important -even on PVE- so that people cant' grief your dino's.
