Can Sea creatures attack my raft ?
I'm currently leaving on a raft in middle of sea to avoid raidings , is there any chance that a megalodon or something attacks my raft for no reason?

yeah, if you have an animal on the deck of your raft, sometimes megas will come up and try for a bite. I've had a sarco nearly destroy my ship many times just for getting close, they seem to agro on me and swim faster than my boat can move. Plus it would only take a player to come and destroy it. I don't think rafts are secure at all.

i'm with 2 more friends , i made a large pirate ship like this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENzN2Wtkwew , i plan to use to tame megalodons and other sea beasts , is there any problem with that? or they will just attack my ship for no reason?

Yes your ship will get damaged if you are trying to tame sharks from it. They will be attempting to eat you and thus, bite your ship. I was having troubles with wood till I was able to upgrade to some metal and stone. It depends on your server but for the most part, if you build your ship with the idea that creatures can damage the raft itself and the stuff you build on it.. also, stuff constantly seems to be able to damage the ship from underneath it.. I used to have boxes and things on the actual raft surface.. every single time they would get broken if anything attacked.

now I have a floor worth of space and my ship is fully stone / metal, the raft itself is still vulnerable and dinos seem to be able to damage it through the protected areas. It is a risk but it can be worth it if you know how to build it. There are ways to lower the foundation on yoru raft so its level with the raft deck, you can expand it and almost triple your ship size. I've seen a raft that was 10 foundations long :O

They won't attack your raft unless you aggro them. Best way to tame a magledon is to lure them into shallow water and then shoot with tranq arrows.

If you knock them out in deep water they will start to sink when unconscious.

Also when taming sea creatures magledon, pleisiosaurs and mosa will all try to kill it so being on a raft is not ideal to protect them.

yes they will. They won't attack an empty raft. But if you are on it, they will try to attack you. And they will glitch their noses thru the raft so they can hit you, and bust any wooden crates you have on the raft.

If you or your pets are on it, yes. I've heard of Sarcos literally crawling up onto them and knocking pets into the water.

If the raft has no life forms on it, I think it should be okay.

i have tranq'd a dozen megs while standing on a raft and they have never once attacked or damaged it. every time, i'd have to jump in the water to lure them closer because they tend to lose interest extremely fast if they can't actually hit me.

Completely incorrect information. Meg's do not attack a raft even if you are on it, unless you attack first.

This is an example of what I was saying about lowering the foundation, I haven't tested it yet but these foundations go down below the raft surface, I'm hoping it will protect it from damage.

sorry, but it is not completely incorrect. I can't say specifically about a Megalodon, I always go the other way when I see their fins, but Sarco's will come and attack you without any provocation whatsoever. If they spot you, they will come after you and attack.

pretty sure Margalus was referring to Megalodon vs rafts. Sarcos will attack you no matter what.

I literally just had this happen to me. Glitched through the floor on login and ended up in the water, being chased by a megalodon. Climbed up on the raft for safety, even jump in at the helm and started to drive away, and he chased me, chomping at the back of my raft until i got to more shallow water and he gave up.

I have driven by megalodons, and stood on the raft without incident, but once they catch your scent, it's on.

"Unless you attack first" so yes, if you have aggro, they try to get you. Not sure why you had to necro an ancient thread for that...
Besides which, now that we have Leedsichthys, the answer to the OP is a much more unqualified "yes", regardless of whether megalodon behavior has changed.
