Giganotosaurus feeding and Ark in general.
Well, as the headline says, imho the Giganotosaurus needs waaay too much food, even unused. We're three active members in our tribe and due to our jobs and/or school we have no time to feed this Dino every 13h.

I think it should be nerfed so that the consum Rate is still high when used, but should be lower when it's literally doing nothing...

Besides that, i think Ark goes too much in the direciton of a "Grind-Game" instead of a "Survival-Game" because the Wilderness isn't that dangeours (yes, we are in endgame, but it's still too easy, even if i go out solo). The Breeding needs way too much time for some Dinosaurs, I mean Giganotosaurus more than 20h babysit? who's got time for that?! Yeah, yeah you could switch with tribemates, but is this the point where the developers want to get their game? "Team up with other People to stand for frickin HOURS somewhere to feed a Dino".

Don't get me wrong, i love this game and of course there are many other things to do than breeding (as example i just hunt sometimes and primary build buildings and have literally nothing to do with breeding) but this is just sick. I know people who are literally 24/7 online but that shouldn't be the target group of the Game.

Seriously Wildcard, please think about that and consider it for the Future. Ark is too wonderful to be wasted on grinding mechanics.

That's the sacrifice you make when you decide to pen up a Behemoth of a dino, more massive than anything out there. It can rage out and destroy everything around it with no chance of standing up to it.

It SHOULD eat a lot to feed that lurking bloodlust it must have, not to mention it's a GIANT CARNIVOROUS DINOSAUR. It's big. It's hungry. It can destroy us all. It needs to eat.

That gives me an idea, if the giganoto gets too much hungry he should go into rage mode xD

Not when it's idle doing nothing. If we're gonna have the giga eat a lot we might as well have the bronto eat a lot.

name ur gigan "born to wild~~~~~~"

besides that i do not enjoy the baby breeding so i don't do it i just spend half a day and tame one :P but the food consumption well it does take alot of effort to maintain but just a few minutes of killing spree on a gigan u could get enough meat to last the entire day and have loads of spoilt meat :P
Fine, and why should ppl respect a dinosaur which isn't possible to kill? Also is hard to tame? And also need tons of meat which spoils every 40min? ...That all wouldn't be a problem when they're add a new food option, which isn't spoile as far as it finaly did

Technically... If you start starving you take damage. That could cause rage to go up.

"No feed me tiny human? You make angry, I eat precious dinos nearby for food."

I starved my giga, and it didn't take any damage at all. All that happened was the torpor went up, and wouldn't decrease until it was fed.

So not feeding it causes it to just pass out with no health damage? Seems exploitable.

I'd have a mind to throw a tracker on it, set it on aggressive and just let it wander. It's not like anything's going to kill it.

I guess, but it takes forever to pass out since the torpor only goes up 1 every 3-5 seconds.

The ideas are great, especially the one with the tracker. But my whole point is not only the problem with feeding the giga, but more the entire Economy of the Game, the taming, crafting and breeding are consuming too much ressources and time imo.

I don't want to let the game become casual, but what i want is an survival experience, not a grinding one.

Doesn't make sense. A Bronto is slow, close to food and doesn't need to move much. A Giga is a massive carnivore that needs to hunt.

Then get rid of it.

What, something like cooked meat jerky you mean? Or even just chuck a load of meat on an industrial grill and feed it cooked meat. Or just, y'know, spend ten minutes hunting with your giant killing machine. No time to feed it every 13 hours? Hogwash.
