Giganotosaurus facts
Hey guys. I've been playing around with the Giganotosaurus in my private server to see how it's mechanics work and figured you all might like to know.

First off, riding the Giganoto and falling off a cliff or ledge ( doesn't even have to be that high) can enrage it. I had mine I was riding fall off a tiny ledge and it's enrage bar was half full. Once it becomes enraged it will roar and it's eyes will glow yellow like the skeletal alpha's did. HOWEVER it's rage mode only seems to last about 10- 20 seconds at most with only the fall damage causing it.

Next I tested to see if having it fall of a cliff while on follow will enrage it. This seems to have no effect. I had my tamed one fall from basically the top of one of the mountains ALL the way to the bottom while it was following me on my Quetz and not a damn thing happened.

I also tested how tamed Giganoto's would fair against wild ones. Sadly there is no real comparison. The wild ones didn't even have a scratch on them (pitted them one on one). The first test was a level 3 forcetamed one against a level 17 wild. Tamed one died, it did enrage though once it was close to its death and stayed enraged for the rest of the fight before it died. I then forcetamed that level 17, it became level 25 after and pitted it against another level 3 in the area. Same sad ending, it enraged halfway through the fight and stayed enraged until it died.

The wild Giganoto's don't appear to get the glowing eyes when they are enraged, they do however still do the roar mechanic. Only way I have found to confirm that they were enraged is when you knock them out and notice the increase difference in stats compared to when they are fully tamed.

Wild ones do cause a bleed mechanic to characters and tamed dinos. You can tell by a bright red teeth icon appearing above your stats bar on the top right corner of the screen. It is accompanied by a count down timer similar to the Dilos.

Lastly I tried to see if you could drown it or get wild Megalodons to attack it and kill it. From what I've experienced is it looses aggro on you once it enters the water. It will follow you for a short time but will quickly loose interest and turn around and head back for shore. Good news is you can drown them! It takes a while though and it seems to require them to de-aggro you and attempt to swim to shore but then remain in one place and slowly sink into the water and die. The Megalodon's are also disinterested so no luck there.

Hope this helps!

Yeah, that's what I was trying to say with that note, but i guess it sounded like I had a wild one follow on my Quetz.

So to clarify Tamed ones on follow do not enrage when falling off anything.

But what about killing the giganotosaur while its knocked out? Is that a good idea? Has anyone tried it before?

You could try it, but now you run into the fact of having to keep it UNCONSCIOUS while slowly whittling down its mass amount of health. Because it burns through toropor like a mother ****er, it's probably not recommended. Could probably be done though.

Well that's why when I am going to do it, I'll also bring narcotics, I'll use anything I can to kill it unconscious, but I won't bring a Rex's to eat it, I'm not risking it if the giganotosaur wakes up and eats my Rex, I'll just use a sword and pike, but I'll also bring a ptenadon to quickly run it is wakes up. Well maybe only on a level 1-10 giganoto

What AlatarTheRed was saying is any dino on follow that is tamed does not take any sort of falling damage while they remain on follow this isn't just limited to the Giga. So in terms of the Giga since following tamed dinos don't take fall damage it will never enrage due to this.

Bring extra pikes and swords then ! It shouldn't be too difficult to kill it in that manor, just super tedious. I accidentally spawned in a level 200 Mosasaur and it took me around 10 minutes or a bit more to kill it. My pike broke, my metal hatchet broke, and my metal pick was half gone by the end of it. So I'd probably suspect something similar to happen. Be ready for a time sink! :P

What's the XP like for killing one? I read somewhere that it was practically nothing.

100 narcotics should last about 15-20 minutes of its torpor refilling. Still stupid as all ♥♥♥♥ though.
