Dino sizes- Updated
Due to a building project I have in mind, I need to know the sizes of a few dinos, but after a search around I couldn't find anything showing the information I need.
So I plan to pop into Singleplayer tomorrow and measure each dino that I need with foundations and walls.

The problem is I haven't messed around with the Ark Commands a lot so i'm not sure exactly how i'd go about it.
So what I need help with is:

How do I spawn a certain dino species?
How do I make sure it doesn't attack me straight away?
How do I give myself certain items? (I know there's no creative menu currently)

Any other tips or tricks about using ark commands would be appreciated!
I'll share the screenshots when I get them of the measurements for anyone else who needs them.

I couldn't actually kill this thing with a command.. it just made it roar and look at me- I think I made it angry.
It's quite scary.

The wild Dino will hit you. Use .cheat God . Or cheat fly. And use forcetame

In SP you may want to spawn some high level armor before you summon say, an angry T-Rex so you'll have time to forcetame it before it eats you. There is supposed to be an offset x and y value in the command options but it never works for me - they will always spawn right on top of me.

One thing I usually do is spawn about 20 armor pieces and flip through to find the best armor rating and insultaion values; this command will put 20 ascendant flak gauntlets in your inventory. You can then pick the best and throw away the other 19.

GiveItemNum 226 20 65 false

Thanks for the help, currently measuring the two dinos now.

don't use forcetame, use dotame, it gives your dino a pefect tame status. Unless of course you don't plan on keeping them, then go ahead and use forcetame and then kill afterwards.

Thanks i'll use that in future for any I plan on keeping/using, for now however force tame sufficed.

I would suggest using the transponder tracker to measure sizes.
Far better resolution than foundations.

Put one on a raptor (about the smallest dino you can ride) and park it sideways at the head of the targeted dino.

Walk to the tail and click the button.

There's your number.

Hm I hadn't thought of that, good idea.
However i currently just need to know their sizes in foundations to plan a build.

Yeah I don't think I can go in that world anymore, it's doomed.
