Whilst I agree that the wild dinos are far too weak in comparison with tamed dinos, this OP dino is not the solution. Whilst easy to deal with for an established tribe, it has the potential to completely destroy anyone that doesn't have access to metal walls. Saw this happen to a players large base last night whilst he was offline. I expect that when he logs on tomorrow it may be the end of his ARK experience. It also reduces the construction choices you have in game if you are in the northern half of the island.
Taming one is also fairly pointless as it is a liability to have around your base. Falling off a small cliff whilst riding one will also get you killed. We have a couple in the tribe and all we do with them is park them out on Dead Island and occassionally use them for meat / prime runs.
If you want a challenge in the game then adjust the tamed dinos to be more in line with the wild dinos. If you ake a tamed 120 sabertooth against a wild 120 T-Rex you get owned. This would force players to consider what they attacked and encourage tactics such as running a pack of smaller dinos. Far more interesting and challenging that putting a Godzilla on the map.
Those aren't tactics. If they are they're crappy tactics. Just like the guy said above ^
NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="Gigant_Character_BP_C",ToClassName="Mammoth_Character_BP_C")
because that's the classname I found on http://ark.gamepedia.com/Entity_IDs
BUT it used to list, Giganotosaurus_Character_BP_C rather than Gigant_Character_BP_C.
I found that out the hard way, cos they reappeared in my game recently.
Using Gigant_Character_BP_C I havn't seen any giganotosaurus. But I havn't seen any mammoths in non-snow areas either, so I'm not sure. I was worried the gigas were spawned a different way than other creatures.
If you want to fight gods like you said above, wait for boss arenas. There's no reason to have such an overpowered dinosaur.
Oh yea, and you mentioned luring as a tactic. That's not a tactic. That's just avoiding it.
But of course, you only want to tame it and dominate the server.
On my EU official primitive 6 there are only 3 bases remaining :
The alpha troll tribe (owning 5 Giganotos), the best friends of the trolls and mine (well hidden). The rest of the island is untouchec nature without buildings again.
The Giganoto game bug will definitly kill ARK if not removed from the game or severely nerfed.
but truly it is one of the only legit things that can kill a wild one, which isn't exactly being thrown under the bus.
i'm pretty sure this has been discussed multiple times, but a giganoto should only be able to break stone at a certain rage percentage. (and a high one to, like 50 or 75%.)
and, i know that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ stat level ups per level are definitely there as a downfall, but melee is one of the best stats you can level, hell only level.
a 120 got .3 movement, 3 stam, and around 400 health per level, but it got 10% per melee level up.
sure, some might pursue the really tanky route of only health, but the damn thing already has such a high base health, plenty see only melee as a route
if there were a balancing in these, that would be appreciated, but values should still remain low. not too low, though.
BUT YES, THE THING'S BIG.
IT'S SUPPOSED TO HAVE POWER.
(that's why it did so much damage, had the highest base health, and could break stone at launch.)
Yeah what a lovely addition... for grieffers....
To strong and destroys everything in few seconds which was build up in a very long time.
