Which of these despawn resources?
I am in an underwater cave, taming a plesi atm. I have placed one of each:

Generator
Fridge
Horizontal wire
Plug
Large storage
Standing torch
Campfire

I harvested the resources in the cave, and was hoping to continue to do so during the tame. So far, only a far oil node has respawned.

Do any of those mess up spawns? And, does the nearby player affect them? Thx.

not sure but it takes some hours for oil/crystal to respawn if the Respawn rate is not modified.

Thanks. Since the oil node respawned already, I'll wait and see what happens. It has been a few hours since I mined them, as the plesi is almost tamed.

I'll update.

Your generator is on a foundation right? that will block some ressources but not that far away.

Player affects the respawn rates in the area, much like a foundation.
Dont think anything else on that list does.

Place your foundations away from all pearls and crystals and you should be okay. Messing up oil spawns isnt a big deal because they only give a few oil compaired to any other oil outside.

Thx all.

No, the genny is on the ground.

The tame is complete. I'm going to head out, and leave all my stuff. I'll come back later, and see if it's respawned, and update. Thanks again for the help!

Here is what the setup looks like: (The three crystals were left for natural light. They didn't respawn.)

Update:

I left, it all came back. So the above items can be for sure checked off the list as being able to despawn surrounding resources.

its you. dinos and resources don't like to respawn if you're in render distance. this is the most common mistake in the game, i see people on dead island all the time waiting for rex's to respawn, or sitting on a mountain top waiting for metal to come back, when they would quickly do so if they left & came back in a bit.

dino populations actually diminish when lots of people are on a server due to this.

Yeah, I figured that out. Thx for the feedback, though.

This also explains why it's kind of dead around my base, but I leave and come back, and my Plant Species X have bodies stacked around the place five high!
