All I can say is that he was really close to the tree during the incident. I'd suggest cutting down trees from farther away until it's fixed, but I can't be sure that was even a factor. I'm certainly not willing to use my pets as test subjects D:
When I died by tree, which I haven't since - I had ejected from a mount and suspect I too had become one with the tree. I hadn't just walked up to the tree. I found this was a similar circumstance to my tribe mate, who i mentioned in my previous post.
So, until a fix, I always make sure i am not stuck in the tree after i eject from mounts.
I've been trying to avoid that area more and more.
Kinda frustrating, but I ended up just making her replacements for all the stuff she lost, thankfully she wasn't carrying anything that couldn't be replicated with materials on hand.
